The news was announced by Toonami’s official Facebook, with the Attack on Titan English dub to begin airing after the premiere of the Shenmue the Animation anime series. The English dub will also premiere on Funimation and Crunchyroll on Sundays as well, giving those who might not want to stay up as late the chance to check it out.

The last half of the Final Season of Attack on Titan began airing in Japan earlier this year and has already garnered massive praise among fans. Toonami also updated its lineup of shows to accommodate the addition of Attack on Titan.

Check out the new Toonami schedule below:

  • 12:00 a.m.– Shenmue: The Animation
  • 12:30 a.m. – Attack on Titan
  • 01:00 a.m. – Assassination Classroom
  • 01:30 a.m. – Made in Abyss
  • 02:00 a.m. – One Piece
  • 02:30 a.m. – One Piece
  • 03:00 a.m. – Naruto: Shippuden
  • 03:30 a.m. – Cowboy Bebop

The second part of the final season of the hit anime will be available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. The first part premiered on NHK General TV back in December 2020.

Attack on Titan began as a manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine between September 2009 and April 2021. The first three seasons of the anime television adaptation were produced by Wit Studios and aired between April 2013 and July 2019. While the manga has concluded, the anime is still ongoing.

The Attack on Titan franchise has seen much success since it began in 2009 winning several awards, and becoming one of the best-selling manga series of all time. It has spun into other media as well, including video games and a live-action film.

It’s almost time to watch Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 28’s English dub! Last week’s episode was gut-wrenching, so you’ll probably want to watch the latest dub as soon as it’s available.  Here’s exactly what time the Season 4 Episode 28 dub (aka Episode 87, called “The Dawn of Humanity”) drops in the United States.

Watch the Episode 87 Dub Late Saturday Night If You Have Cable TV

If you have cable or satellite, then you can watch “The Dawn of Humanity” late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, depending on what time zone you’re in. The Toonami channel gets the Attack on Titan English dub first, with Crunchyroll and Funimation following the next day. If your cable package includes Adult Swim/Toonami/The Cartoon Network, then you can watch the newest dub tonight. (If you want to stay up that late!)

Season 4 Episode 28’s English dub (also known as Episode 87) airs on TV at 12:30 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, April 30, according to Toonami’s official schedule. What does this translate to in other time zones? In the CST (Central), you can watch it on TV at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. That’s 9:30 p.m. Pacific (for West Coast folks) and 10:30 p.m. Mountain on Saturday night. Double-check local listings to be sure, of course.

If you don’t have a cable subscription, you can stream the Toonami broadcast on certain services, like Hulu Live TV (not Hulu’s regular subscription), Sling TV, AT&T Now, or YouTube TV. But Crunchyroll is a cheaper option if streaming is your preference and you don’t already have one of these services.

Stream the Attack on Titan Episode 87 Dub Online on Sunday Night

If you don’t have cable, then you can stream the English dub when it drops on Crunchyroll. Season 4 Episode 28 (aka Episode 87)’s dub drops on Crunchyroll on Sunday night, May 1st. Here’s the Crunchyroll link.

According to Crunchyroll’s schedule and a representative from Funimation, the dub will drop at the following time on Sunday night:

  • May 1st at 9:30 p.m. Central/10:30 p.m. Eastern/7:30 p.m. Pacific/3:30 a.m. UTC

Note that Funimation used to be your only legal streaming dub choice for Attack on Titan’s newest dubs. However, since Funimation bought Crunchyroll, Crunchyroll now gets the dubs too. Funimation will eventually be phased out at some point in the future, and Crunchyroll will be your only option.

Here’s a recap of where we left off last week. (Spoilers below.)

Our full review of last week’s episode is here. Below is a shorter synopsis.

The synopsis for the episode reads: “What I saw that day. What we talked about that day. What I chose that day. That’s all he wanted. He hasn’t changed anything.” (This is the Google translation from the official website and is slightly different from the official English sub on the streaming services.)

This is the official Season 4 Part 2 finale, so Crunchyroll released a special video commemorating it.
