Explore your colorful side with a temporary hue made for your hair.
With unique color options still trending in the hair space, it’s becoming the norm to see women at work with vivid colored hair. Some folks might want to try a little color, but don’t know which is best for them. Wigs and hair extensions can be good options, but don’t always have the right textures for our hair, and can get expensive. Try a semi or demi-permanent hair color instead, to get that pop.
Semi-permanent hair dyes simply coat the hair shaft, whereas demi-permanent dyes contain peroxide which opens the hair cuticle and penetrates deeper. So if you want a long-lasting color, you want to be sure to pick the right one. Whatever your preference, we’ve got some top rated options specifically for Black women, ranked high by actual customers (collective ratings include Black and non-Black users), and recommended by professional cosmetologists and colorists.

Yes, you can safely color permed hair if you use a semi-permanent hair color. Semi-permanent hair color is safe because it is "deposit only,” which means it contains no ammonia or peroxide and is, therefore, non-damaging. While semi-permanent color normally lasts from four to eight shampoos, hair that has been chemically processed will tend to hold color longer. Use a porosity control shampoo before coloring permed hair so it will absorb the color more evenly.
