Sep 12, 2018 While my car is still under warranty and the oil changes are free - why are they so expensive? Can any reputable dealer change the oil on an F Pace? Thanks in advance for the response.

While my car is still under warranty and the oil changes are free - why are they so expensive? Can any reputable dealer change the oil on an F Pace? Thanks in advance for the response. Are you asking why are they expensive while under warranty like what the dealer gets from Jaguar to do th oil changes?
Yes any authorized Jaguar Dealer can change your oil under and out of warranty. If you mean after the first 5 years, you can have anyone change it that knows how. You could change it if you want. I would highly suggest that during the first 5 years under warranty that you take it to A Jaguar Dealer they will also do other things while it’s there under warranty like swap cabin filter, top off fluids, safety check the car. I hope I answered your question DP
P.S. GRVR’s responses is to use the search feature on the forum, because this has been talked about so many times. >

I should have clarified my question better. My apologies. While my FPace is under warranty, I will be having the dealer change the oil. My concern is the prices I am seeing post warranty $189 for an oil change. Seems a bit outrageous to me. Can I take this car to any reputable company for an oil change, or dies it have to be a Jaguar Dealer. Not sure I
can afford to keep the car post lease when my plan was to purchase the car because I absolutely love it! Thank you again in advance for your reply.

If you have a lease and decide to keep the car ( I’m guessing a 3 yr lease) you still have rhe factory warranty for 2 more years and they will continue to change the oil. After that you can have anyone change it that knows how. You could change it if you want. A lot of dealers will run oil change specials.
This is somthing that you only need to do once a year. These cars use Castrol EDGE Professional E 0W-30, however Mobile 1 has resently been approved for these cars also. Once you own your car you can what you please. If you budget $15 a month toward the oil change you will be fine. DP

I know I am setting myself to be flamed . . . but if $189 a year for an oil change is bothering you . . . maybe a JAGUAR F-PACE isn't the car for you . . . premium cars post warranty will cost you more than a Honda or Toyota.

replace and fill. It's a system that has to be sucked out and pressured back in. I don't understand why it has to be that way, but thought that's what I read. I'm sure I'll be corrected if that's wrong, but a reason why Oil Can Johnny's down the street can't do it. Might be simple, I dunno, I'm taking full advantage of the free oil changes until 2021... .

I posted a picture on here last year. Not all all, authorized service centers have the oil sucking machine. So yes you can change it yourself, should you desire. DP

about changing the oil on it. The biggest issue is the only approved oil is avail only at your dealer. If Mobil one is now approved, I'd like to see someone post that factually for petrol and diesel grades with the JLR approval on the bottle. You can buy a "Sucking" machine from amazon for less than the price of a dealer change and you have it for life.... Or pull the plug and do it like a 350 Chevy. Since Diesels are every other year, I change it once in the middle with oil bought from the
dealer....Less than a 30 min job.

I could be blind, but I don't see any specific JLR approvals on any bottles listed here... Just because it comes up on Carid certainly doesn't mean its approved.....

Be advised; that when your Jag Hits the one year mark or 16K miles whichever happens first since the last service..the SERVICE ENGINE reminder will pop-up and only can be RESET by the dealer...unless your Independent service place has the device or software to RESET it..which I doubt they will....This SERVICE REMINDER will always
pop-up no matter how old the car gets.

Dealers usually suck it out via 1/4" pipette under the fill cap..cuz it's easier for them..but there is also a drain plug in the bottom of the
pan like any other car would have..At my first year service, I had the service tech DRAIN mine so as to get any particulates and debris that may have settled to the bottom since new...sucking it out leaves about an 1/8 of a quart still in the bottom....I slipped the tech an extra $20 for his troubles..
Filling is just by pouring it in like any other car.

I usually install a few Rare earth magnets on the oil pan to lock and fine metal particles in the oil. DP

WRONG..The F-Pace can ONLY be reset with a special tool/software device the dealer has.. 1. Have you tried this procedure and know for a fact it doesn’t work ? I personally don’t think you have. > DP
2. This method states that it only gets rid of the light.
3. This doesn’t say it resets the service interval.

acceptable, but electronically it makes no sense that it is all it does. Either or; I don't believe this method is plausible for the F-Pace.
