I cannot get the latch to lock onto the striker bar. The latch can be pushed into closed position with a screwdriver, but when closing the trunk (normally) the latch wont completely click onto the striker bar. Is the latch no good? I also screwed the rubber bumpers that prevent rumbling all the way in. And lastly I sprayed the hell out of the latch with WD40. Still no luck.. Thanks in advance 06-03-2009Premium Member Hey! Just pick up an Accord actuator and hook it to your alarm like gearbox said. 06-12-2012winning

Honda wants 87 bucks for a new latch. i tried moving the striker around and i checked the cable for release too but it appears the plastic has just worn down so much there's nothing to push the latch over and lock. i may look into the accord latch as mentioned previously 06-12-2012"Come to terms with your slow *** whip"

Probably wont make a difference but just one more thing to try. If the latch is broken go on www.car-part.com and find one at a scrap yard in your area Related TopicsThread Thread Starter Honda Civic Forum Replies Last Post Wankenstein Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it Forum 18 08-17-2015 08:02 AM h4ldol 7th Generation Civic 2001 - 2005 19 07-28-2015 01:01 AM brainwashedmc Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it Forum 11 07-27-2015 10:05 PM ayoitzjulesdx98 Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it Forum 1 07-26-2015 02:25 PM bdrickybd Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it Forum 4 07-25-2015 04:35 PM 01, 2001, 2002, 2006, adjustment, ajustment, carbon, change, civic, fiber, honda, install, latch, open, trunk
Can you open a Honda Civic trunk from the inside? If you don't have the key, there are a few ways to open the Honda Civic trunk without it. You can use your car's remote if you have one. If your car has an emergency release, push down on the center console and lift up on the trunk lid from inside the vehicle.
