That particular panel is very simple to remove to look at connectors. Just use a wide screwdriver to gently pry the entire bezel, first lower left edges aside the ash tray hinge, then the upper side corners. There's almost 0 possibility of damage to the bezel if you just do this about 1/8" at a time. Once the bezel is out, there's
connectors for: driver power plug (cig lighter), right power port, ash tray lamp just squeeze the clamp to release it, then connectors on each switch. These have thumb latch release. Now reconnect only the driver's seat switch connector, and see if the indicator works, key in RUN mode, switch to either HI or LO position. This verifies that the connector's physical connection function was not the problem. If LED now works both positions, just reconnect all and replace bezel into
dash, beginning with lower corners alignment, first. If still no LED, the remove the connector again, follow: Fuse 20, 10A powers both driver and passenger heated seat controls. On the driver side connector for the seat switch, look at the harness connector pin 3, White/Pink wire, should be battery voltage (12-13.6V) to ground with key in RUN position. Ground is the connector pin 5, Black wire. So check for continuity from pin 5 to some known battery ground point.
Then check with meter in VDC mode for voltage from pin 3 to pin 5, key in RUN mode. Next, with meter set in OHMs mode, read from switch pin 1 to switch pin 6. Easiest to have clip leads clipped to both the meter probes, and the switch connector pins. There should be 3 different ohm readings from pin 1 to pin 6, depending on the switch position selected. Next, with meter set in DIODE function, check for indication from switch pin 2 to switch pin 5, depending on switch
position. You will be selecting LED, nothing, and LED on these pins.
