Decided to catch a meal at a highly rated eatery in the area, The Backyard Grill. It was an evening in midweek where even at 7 pm they had a full house. Found out...why. Great meal with a specialty burger and tasty onion rings. The impressive part for me was the fabulous service received by a young man named Danial. He was busy taking care of various tables. Unlike, some servers who are frazzled on a busy night, Danial was quick to greet me within 30 sec of sitting down. As I reviewed the menu, Danial easily answered my questions and made suggestions on menu choices to meet my needs. The meal was delivered promptly and everything was as requested. Periodically, he circled back to to see how the food was and he could assist further. I was very, very satisfied with the visit to the The Backyard Grill !!! My dad has a bad hearing problem and the 1st table that is sat us at was pretty noisy pretty noisy so they accommodated us and moved us to a quieter table. The lunch was delicious.... Between Us all we had a double order of wings ... salads... baked haddock and a my dad had a seafood salad that he really liked. Prices were comparable to others. This restaurant offers two dining experiences. One in the bar area with booths and tables and one in the main dining area for a quieter experience. Every entree I have tried has been excellent. I see he and his girlfriend also go here for dinner when she visits. They have great food and fantastic waitstaff. I...really love their chef salad and fun drinks. Even though we did not have a beer...they have a ton of beers on tap. Secondly,...the waitress we had was amazing. Probably the best waitress I can remember having at a restaurant in a long time. Last, but not least, the food was amazing. My son and I ordered burgers from a huge menu while my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. The menu was extensive so it was crazy hard to decide what to order. Needless to say, we all agreed it was some of the best sports bar food we had in a long time. People were packed in the wait area, did not see any sanitizer available. Got back home, and one of the main entrees was not...there. Called right away, and demanded that they remake the entire order which they did. They did apologize, but the whole idea of not having the order correct was troublesome given the amount charged. On to the dinners. Chicken sandwich was dry, husbands salmon he said was good, the lobster mac had more fake crab meat in it than any real lobster or crab but charging lobster prices. While I only ate half as they did give a good portion, have yet to come across any lobster or real crab. Sause beer based was good, the cheese curds were a disappointment but mozzarella sticks were good. The salad dressing (ranch) was runny, bread was good, the "flavored butter" you can keep it was not good, not even sure what the flavor was suppose to be.
