Resident Evil 4 Remake: 13 Awesome Things We Noticed While Playing

After playing through the original Resident Evil 4 dozens of times on everything from GameCube to Meta Quest 2 VR, Brian Altano got to go hands-on with the first 45 minutes of Capcom's highly anticipated next-gen remake of this modern classic of survival-horror action. Is it noticeably scarier? Will it be darker than the original? Does it still have funny moments? Did they make any changes? Did the chainsaw guy get new abilities? The answer is yes, but there's so much more to talk about. Even though Resident Evil 4 Remake's announcement might have been spoiled by leaks, the first trailer got us plenty excited, and seeing uncut gameplay footage of it in action has us extremely excited. Between the newer first-person games, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 8 Village, and the classic third-person Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom has clearly been reaching for the moon with the RE Engine. RE4 is one of the best horror games of all time, so we cannot wait for its release date - March 24th, 2023 when it comes out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The ability to customize the player's character in Grand Theft Auto V has also been made an ability in Grand Theft Auto Online. Players can choose to customise their character's appearance from thousands of items, which are split up into categories: Tops, Pants, Shoes, Hats, Accessories, Glasses, and Outfits. Unlike in GTA V, all clothing items are available from each kind of store; Binco will sell the exact same things as Ponsonby's.

While most items are available for both male and female characters, many are exclusive to a single gender. In addition, the option for outfits is available. Each outfit is made up of individual items and its price is the sum of all items included. Thus, purchasing an item included in an outfit will lower its price. If the player already owns all items in an outfit, the price will drop to $100.

Downloadable updates have massively expanded clothing stock, with some updates adding even hundreds of new clothing items. Items added with the Holiday Gifts, Independence Day Special, Festive Surprise, Halloween Surprise, and Festive Surprise 2015 updates are time-specific and can therefore only be purchased during their respective periods; otherwise, they do not appear in the list. However, any owned time-specific items will remain available and can be worn even outside of these yearly periods.

Trivia

• During the Ill-Gotten Gains event, Special Crates were dropped that contained "knock off versions of Portola Drive's finest luxury retailers". They have similar logos and misspellings of otherwise-identical shirts available for purchase from the same update.
• The Fake Vapid shirt was supposed to be available in Special Crates on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 18, 2015, but they were not found in any until the following day.
• The Banshee Racing Jacket takes major cues from the jacket actor Burt Reynolds wore in Smokey and the Bandit.
• Any clothing given to the player base as part of a promotion or that is won from the Lucky Wheel at The Diamond Casino & Resort is both unlocked and immediately available to wear. Players do not have to go to a store to purchase the items.

Bugs/Glitches

• When the player logs into the game, a pop-up will appear, informing the player that Rockstar has added clothing into their inventory, even if no clothing was unlocked.
