Balm Chicky Balm Balm entered the Shark Tank in Season 6 to eliminate the problem of friends wanting to share your lip balm. The bottom of the tube is called “The Friend End,” so you can keep your personal side germ free and offer pals the other to apply with their fingers.

Co founders Elizabeth Moskow and Abby Schwalb asked for $75,000 for 20 percent of their company. “Initially, Balm Chicky Balm Balm was just a fun way to prove the concept of the Friend End tube,” Schwalb told Yahoo, “but it quickly grew legs of its own with the ultra-catchy, 70’s bass line mantra: “BALM CHICKY BALM BALM!”

As for their experience on the Tank, they did not get a deal from the Sharks.
“Pitching to the Sharks was a surreal, once in a lifetime experience,” Moskow told Yahoo. “ABC receives thousands of applications each season so being selected and then aired reinforced to us that we indeed have something special with Balm Chicky Balm Balm.” Watch their appearance in the clip above.

However, in April, Newswire reported that the ladies took their products to Target and are now in over 378 Target stores throughout the country. “Maybe Kevin O’Leary had something with the cockroach moniker he bestowed upon us. If by cockroach he meant that we’re successful survivors, then yes, he got that much right,” Schwalb told Newswire. “As a serial entrepreneur, I’m used to not letting objections stop me. Plowing through the great wall of “no” has become an expected game of strategic planning; it keeps me on my toes, plotting, strategizing and finding ways to persevere,” Moskow added.

The secret that lets people share Balm Chicky Balm Balm is what the two women call the “friend end.” One end of their lip balm sticks is like any other; that’s for personal use. The friend end has a flip top cap you can stick a finger in and get some lip balm without contaminating the personal end. Their container is patented, so they have a proprietary niche in the lip balm market.

Liz and Abby bring a sassy attitude to their brand which emulates 70’s sensibilities. The artwork on their packaging is decidedly retro with a sexy, 1970’s look. The product names scream double entendre: Juicy Melons, Sweet Baby Ginger, Huge Cucumber, Wild Mountain Honey, and Chocolate Love. They even sell a “Menage a Trois” 3-pack. A stick of lip balm costs $7 each, 3 for $18, or 5 for $25. They are currently available online and in 50-60 retail outlets nationwide.

These women have a clear vision for their brand. They likely want broad retail distribution and cash for expansion. Will Liz and Abby bed a Shark?

Balm Chicky Balm Balm Shark Tank Recap

Liz and Abby enter seeking $75K for 20% of the business. They start pitching the benefits of the “friend end.” The say their product allows sharing while creating a conversation piece. They say they are in 60 stores. Mark calls them out on the porntastic packaging, but they are into licensing the packaging. To date, they’ve only sold $17K worth of product, but they are really just testing the market.

Lori thinks their pricing is excessive compared to regular lip balm. Mark thinks they have a product, not a company, and they should exploit the “adult” angle. Lori says they have a great name, but she doesn’t like the friend end, she’s out. Robert doesn’t want his kids buying an adult themed product, he’s out. Kevin says the lip balm space is a bad waste of time, he’s out. Barbara doesn’t think the product solves a problem, she’s out. Mark says they should continue with the adult angle and not try to grow themselves out of business, he’s out. The ladies leave with all the Sharks saying “Balm Chicky Balm Balm.”

When you’re selling an All Natural Lip Balm inspired with name’s like Juicy Melons and Huge Cucumber, you just know it’s going to get a little hot inside the Shark Tank. The Balm Chicky Balm Balm Chicks will be appearing on a Brand New Episode on Tuesday night February 3, 2015 with their 70’s inspired lip balm business that, yes, could be the hottest new product ever seen on the Shark Tank Show if you know what I mean.

Abby Schwalb and Liz Moskow are the entrepreneur’s who invented the Balm Chicky Balm Balm Biz consisting of several rather interesting names for their lip balm products. If you’re not into Huge Melons, then maybe a little Wild Mountain Honey or some Hot Chocolate Love is what your lips prefer. The Balm Chicky Chicks makes a Lip Balm for every set of lips you can imagine.

Aside from having a Hot New Lip Balm with playful names, the Balm Chicky products also have a patented new tube dispenser giving this Brand a distinct advantage over all Lip Balms currently on the market.
All Balm Chicky products conveniently open on both ends which they refer to as the “Friend End”. The next time a Friend wants to use your Lip Balm, you simply pop open up the other end where your lips have never been. The Balm Chicky Promo Video below should answer most questions and give you a glimpse how hot it might get inside the Shark Tank.

Liz and Abby decided to take the Balm Chicky Balm Balm to Indiegogo raising the startup capital needed for the first production run. With a financial goal of $10,000.00, they ended up raising only $6800.00 from 85 backers in July 2012. It’s interesting that the Drain Strain also appearing in this episode of the Shark Tank, also ran a crowd funding campaign at Indiegogo and neither product reached their financial goal. But unlike the Drain Strain, the Balm Chicks didn’t give up on their dreams, and they’re most definitely preparing for the Shark Tank Effect coming their way.

Balm Chicky Balm Reviews before Shark Tank Update

Considering Barbara Corcoran and Kevin O’Leary kissed on the Shark Tank Show twice including the Kiss-Tixx Lip Balm, the big question is “Can the Balm Chicks heat things up inside the Shark Tank for a third kiss“? Or will Barbara just give Kevin the “Friend End” of her “Wild Mountain Honey”? Chances are O’Leary will get the Big Cucumber, but that’s about it. Ah yes, this should be a very, very interesting Episode on the Shark Tank you won’t soon forget.

As much as the Balm Chicky Lip Balm is a fun and playful product, the huge opportunity is licensing the patented “Friend End” to the major players in this market IMO. Naturally the Chick Balm Brand has found a niche where no Lip Balm has gone before, but that patent could make this company a Very Successful Shark Tank product spanning several Lip Balm Brands.

Watch the Balm Chicky’s on the Shark Tank next Tuesday night February 3, 2015 for a groundbreaking Brand New Episode 616.
