They allow me to have fun while I am learning.” And it’s certainly evident that “professors want you to do well, and provide resources for students to make it happen.” As a math major explains, “When a questions arises, they are always willing to explain it thoroughly, so that all students understand.” And one ecstatic freshman concludes, “So far my academic experience is far beyond what I had anticipated. There [are] young and old students, local and international students, and this allows people to share their different points of view and everyone can bring something to the table.” Generally, students find their peers to be “very laid-back” and “open minded.” “Friendly” is another adjective that often springs to mind. As one math major notes, “When a student is struggling, it is not uncommon to find someone willing to help you.” And a nutrition major agrees adding, “I was lost as I was looking for my class and a pair of students noticed and helped me…I did not even [have to] ask.” Perhaps this content freshman says it best, “As I see it everyone fits in with everyone. No matter if your religious or non-religious, skater or punker, and right-wing or left-wing. We’re all here for a common goal, to be successful, and that's what brings us together.”
