Chocolate cavalier king charles spaniel for sale near me

My husband and I are trained medical professionals. We own our country home on 8 acres that our four children and dogs enjoy. We run a home-based breeding program approximately 30 minutes north of Syracuse, New York.

Our cavaliers are raised in our home- not outside in a kennel. They are our pampered pets. They are socialized with our children so they are used to noise and commotion. We OFA test eyes & hearts as well as full panel DNA test our dogs to eliminate avoidable diseases. We live 6 minutes from our vet. They are routinely health checked and up to date on their shots. Not only are they happy and healthy but they have no symptoms of any health issues at this time. We are big on healthy nutrition because it is key! We free feed a mixture of high quality kibble and raw food with human grade ingredients. They take daily vitamins and other recommended supplements that we have researched. We only breed AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. We have all the colors in our program including rare chocolates versions, blacks, and B&W (no tan). They are all 100% purebred as confirmed via DNA testing.

With all dogs and puppies that we sell we are ALWAYS willing to take them back at anytime if it doesn’t work out. All of the details will be in the purchase agreement.

At the moment we have a paid waitlist for classic Cavaliers and a paid waitlist for chocolate Cavaliers. We add people to the list in the order their deposit was received. We sell purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies with limited AKC registration only (breeding rights available to approved established reputable breeders at an additional cost). We have a strict spay/neuter contract that pet buyers are required to sign. Cavaliers sold as pets are meant to be loved, cared for and cherished for their whole lives by their new family – not bred. We let the puppies go to their new home when they are ready usually between 8-16 weeks. Balance is due at or before pick up and must be CASH only (all puppies must be paid in full and picked up by 16 weeks).

We do NOT allow visitors before the puppies are ready to leave to avoid potential illnesses (after their first vaccinations).

We faithfully take tons of pictures & videos of the puppies so you can watch them grow. We can arrange for live video chat like FaceTime, FB messager chat, or Skype. All of our pups will be microchipped. They will have first shots, and be health checked by our licensed veterinarian before they are discharged. Our vet sends home a detailed Health certificate with each puppy.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not release the AKC paperwork to the buyer until we have confirmation from a licensed veterinarian.

For more information on prices please message me privately (PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE). We do occasionally have an adult available but very rarely. I prefer to communicate with buyers via my messages on my FB page: www.facebook.com/hotchkisscavaliers

So you think you want a puppy? Dogs are not for the impulse buyer!! They are not objects. They are living, breathing beings that have no choice or control over their lives or their destiny. They are totally dependent upon us for all of their needs for all of their lives. This is something we must take very seriously. We reserve the right to refuse to sell a puppy to someone if we don’t feel that it is a good fit.

Buyers also have a responsibility in this process. Adding a Cavalier to your family is a 9 – 14 year commitment. Be sure you are prepared to care for, feed, train, exercise, and most of all LOVE a Cavalier for it's entire life.

Remember too that a long-term financial commitment comes with dog ownership. Not only the initial purchase price of the dog (and this is NOT the time to bargain shop!), but the cost of food, veterinary care, boarding, equipment and training classes, all add up over the years. Responsible Breeder & Responsible Buyer go hand-in-hand. Each should have a strong commitment.

We want to stay connected. We would love to be updated on our babies as they grow and see pictures from former litters!

Thanks for considering us!

Chocolate color is a DNA trait that removes black from their skin and coat. There’s a misconception that the AKC only recognizes the four main classic colors. This is not true. There are four colors that are considered to be “breed standard” however all of my Cavaliers are registered with the AKC. It literally says “Chocolate and Tan” for color description on their pedigree. The only catch is that the AKC does not allow the chocolates to participate in dog shows but that doesn’t devalue them. We are hoping they will change their policy soon.

The DNA tests we use from the Embark company show that these beauties are 100% purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are NOT A MIXED BREED. It’s all in the DNA. The chocolate/liver gene is a natural mutation that is not accompanied by health risks. This is not a new or foreign concept. You see this gene coloration in other breeds as well. It is recessive and rare as well as very beautiful.

Is there such a thing as a chocolate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel?

You may have seen a rare chocolate colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy and asked yourself if they are really cavaliers. The answer is YES! The Chocolate B gene expresses itself as Chocolate Tan or Chocolate Tri.
