Oct 29, 2016 Hi everyone. First time challenger owner, long time forum follower here. Bought a used 2012 RT with 100k miles, and I love it! It is a quirky s.o.b. though. My question is this: I had the Electronic throttle control warning light come on, along with the check engine light( haven't had the codes read yet) , as well as(!) the temp gauge reading cold,
while the engine is running/had been running. I was going to the auto parts emporium tomorrow, figured a new thermostat would help but wanted to ask y'all what you thought about it. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated and super duper thanks in advance for it. 2016 Challenger

Discussion Starter · #6 · Oct 29, 2016 Update: had the codes read, can't remember the codes exactly, but it's reading sender 1,3,&5 is misfiring, and a bad coolant temp sensor...what do y'all think? Spark plug?

I've got the exact same problems on my 2013 engine light came on yesterday, throttle came on today gonna take it to get the codes tomorrow or as soon as some place opens after the holidays. Hope its nothing too serious. What does it mean when electronic throttle control light comes on?Usually, when you have issues like a depressed throttle pedal, the ETC gets a signal and sends it to the throttle by making it open and close simultaneously. If this cycle is interrupted, it signifies a fault. The ETC light turns on and flashes on the dashboard as a warning signal.
How much does it cost to fix electronic control throttle?It really depends on what exactly you need replaced; or what's wrong with the throttle body or fuel system. If it's the electronic throttle controller then the replacement cost can range from $300 to $1,500 depending on the location and time to complete the job.
