House of Blues - Boston

House of blues boston mezzanine vs floor

As you can see, they are not quite finished.  It officially opens this Thursday when the J. Geils. Band takes the stage.  Is it just me, or does this building look hideous?  Compared to the other House of Blues venues, this one appears to be somewhat lacking on the outside.

Let’s take a look at the floor plan.  First, I noticed it says 3rd floor plan - upper music hall seating plan.  So maybe the restaurant and shops are on the first floor?  Looks like the area right in front of the stage is General Admission.  There appears to be mezzanine(VIP), and balcony seating after that.

The front row of seats are being offered as a PSLs (Personal Seat Licenses), similar to professional sports teams.  The $5,000 you pay for one year (or $2,500 for six months) does not include the tickets, just the seat rights.  What a bargain.

Maybe you can become a Foundation Room member.  It doesn’t says how many thousands of dollars that costs.  I can only imagine.  It’s safe to say that this venue isn’t tailored for the average music fan, but more for people with deep pockets.  Truly a House of Blues it is.
