Simple stuff, right?! Now, just so you know, you can use fresh or frozen fruit for this recipe. It will taste just as delicious no matter which you choose. With that said though, a lot of times I like to use frozen strawberries and bananas. I just like the fact that I end up using less ice in my smoothie if I use them, and the flavor of it is richer since the smoothie isn't watered down.
Optional Add-Ins for Your McDonald's SmoothieThis is a great smoothie to make on a daily basis. So I've included a list of add-ins that you can incorporate into your strawberry banana smoothie to make it a bit differently each time Check out these add-ins:
How To Make McDonald's SmoothieThis recipe will make enough for two strawberry banana smoothies, so it's great to make if you want to share with someone else in the house! But, if you only want to make it for yourself, just cut the ingredients in half. Now, with all of that said, let's get into how to make McDonald's smoothie.
Step 1: Add the IngredientsFirst, get out all of your ingredients and a blender. Now, pour the milk into the blender, followed by Greek yogurt, strawberries, bananas, and ice. You can also use a food processor for this recipe. It will result in a thicker, soft-serve ice cream consistency. So if you want that, just add all of the ingredients to a food processor instead of your blender. And, of course, as I mentioned just a second ago, if you like your smoothie on the thicker side, you can use frozen fruit or add. more ice. I like to freeze the strawberries and bananas because they make for an extra thick and creamy smoothie. If you like your smoothie on the thinner side, simply add more liquid.
Step 2: Blend and EnjoyNow, blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and fully combined. Then, pour the smoothie into your favorite cup, or if you used a food processor, add it to a bowl and eat it with a spoon. And that's it! Now, I don't know about you, but that seems way simpler than driving to McDonald's, waiting in line, and then watching your smoothie come out of some weird machine.
How To Store Your McDonald's SmoothieIf you're making this smoothie I have a feeling you're probably going to drink the whole thing. But, just in case you're not able to finish your smoothie, you can store it for later or the next day. Just store it in an airtight container or sealable glass jar and it should stay good for up to 2 days. However, just keep in mind that separation may occur when storing so you'll want to throw it back in the blender before drinking. Pro tip: consider pouring your leftover smoothie, or extra smoothie, into an ice cube tray and freeze them. That way, when you want to make another strawberry banana smoothie, you can use those smoothie cubes instead of ice!
Wrapping It UpWell, that's how to make a McDonald's smoothie in the comfort of your own home. This smoothie recipe is wonderfully simple - and way healthier - than a smoothie from the fast food chain. No modified food starch or preservatives are in this smoothie, just healthy fruits, and Greek yogurt.
