Maison francis kurkdjian gentle fluidity gold reviews

Same notes, two identities. The challenge is to create two singular eaux de parfum using the same ingredients: juniper berries, nutmeg, coriander, musks, amber wood and vanilla to express their full potential. The Gentle Fluidity duo was imagined by the perfumer to sketch two distinctive olfactive silhouettes for him and for her in a gentle blurring of identities.

In the generous and fully enveloping trail of gentle Fluidity Gold Maison Francis Kurkdjian, you’ll find essence of coriander seeds and an extra dose of musks and vanilla. Like the musks, the coriander seeds’ spicy floral notes add a breezy volume and lasting trail. The vanilla accord brings tasty and reassuring back notes underscored by the amber wood which sketches a bright and radiant silhouette. gentle Fluidity Gold eau de parfum diffuses comfortable notes, a reassuring musky ambery scent.

This scent is a nice delicate vanilla, pleasant, cozy and warm but still kind of fresh with just the right sweetness, not too woody or spicy and I would say soft rather than really powdery. To put it briefly, it's like vanilla made softer, sweeter (but it's a light delicious kind) and tastier. A perfect signature scent type of perfume, as the name suggests, very soft, light, elegant. Definitely leans more towards the feminine side

This is what angels would smell like

I came across MFK fragrances online a few months ago and immediately ordered 8 samples. Some of them I thought something was wrong with my olfactory perception. Grand Soir a masterpiece? I was already very disappointed until I sprayed Gentle Fluidity Gold on my skin. It was love at first smell (for comparison, with Baccarat Rouge, I had to finish both testers EDP and Extrait until I could say I liked them a lot). The beginning of Gentle Fluidity Gold was pleasantly fresh, bright and mild and the scent gradually became warmly vanilla and I could finally detect the woody note. And that even hours later. Definitely my favorite perfume so far

Gentle Fluidity Gold by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a Amber Vanilla fragrance for women and men. Gentle Fluidity Gold was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian.

Same notes, two identities

Working the ingredient to express its full potential and meeting the challenge of composing two different eau de parfum with the same notes: juniper berries, nutmeg, coriander, musks, ambery woods and vanilla. The Gentle Fluidity duo was born of the perfumer’s imagination to offer two distinct olfactory silhouettes, for her or for him.

In Gentle Fluidity’s (Gold) generous, enveloping trail, we can find coriander seed essence and an overdose of musks and vanilla. The floral, spicy note of coriander seeds brings, just like musks, ethereal volume and a lingering trail. In the base notes, the gourmand, reassuring notes of the vanilla accord enhanced by the ambery woods reveal a radiant, bright silhouette. (From the brand's website.)

Am I the only one that smells a MAN fragrance?!! This is very masculine to me!!

Molecular, dense vanilla with pungent (almost metallic) juniper & subtle nutmeg. Cozy & intimate. Performance, meh. A year later: woodier with “dirtier” musk. Vanilla is less heavy, juniper is toned down & nutmeg is turned up. Stronger, though still close to the skin. Classy & unique for cool/cold weather.

Baby wipes?! Where?!
Year-round, signature..? I don’t see it, but I do live in high heat.
Common smell? Where are you guys smelling molecular vanilla & juniper?!
The color change isn’t a problem for me. I don’t think it would stain clothing. (Except for white, maybe?)

It’s a solid like, for me. I do have a hard time finding the right occasion to wear it.

This fragrance is warm, chic and lovely .
It's somewhat similar to Delina by Parfums de Marly . Be sure to try it .

Has anyone tried Essense "Like a day in a candy shop"? I was gifted it by a friend in 2016, simple scent, nothing original, but I associate great memories with it, it is discontinued now... I found a dupe, it is called MFK "Gentle fluidity gold" :D Althouhg this one is not long lasting nor as strong ... and overpriced...

havent tried the og but i have the alt ver, this is soooo good lord none of that babywipe/playdoh smell u guys are on about

eva.daisy.8812/23/22 01:37

Very soft vanilla with wooden notes. But I was surprised after spraying it, that this is such a familiar scent. I’ve definitely smelled it a lot of times before unknowingly, or it was copied a lot of times. Either way, it’s a very boring creation coming from this brand. Definitely not worth a full.m bottle purchase.

moonlighting12/20/22 14:55

People really pay this much money to smell like a freshly opened tub of playdoh???

such a beautiful, smooth and creamy fragrance, i’m very tempted to buy a full bottle

Down vote till your heart's content.

This style of fragrance is tired and ridden hard! Sure, when it originally came out it was interesting being a musky vanilla, but now? not anymore, the DNA being copied 10x over makes this fragrance for the price and quality redundant.

I too have noticed that the liquid has changed to this purple colour which can't be attributed to natural ingredients as this doesn't have any, and the scent itself has changed so drastically a comparison isn't even appropriate. I sold my bottle with the older formulation after I kept smelling the same DNA everywhere and I don't regret it.

Like most modern perfumes they will not endure the test of time, this is one which I will happily forget.

I'm having a Mandela effect over here. Did anyone else notice this perfume completely changed? Like the color, the fragrance. I smelled this back in 2021 at a department store and it was a strong, sexy unisex fragrance, a bit closer to Grand Soir. It had a sharpness to it and a head turning quality. And the juice was gold. Now it's purple? And it's just a pleasant soft vanilla? Did anyone else notice that?

Very ambery, syrupy almost boozy vanilla with musk but with a slightly fresh side to it as well, gentle warm spice, and a green aromatic side that comes out more in the middle phase to me. A little too thick and sweet or my taste but smells high quality and good for what it's going for! Seems best for colder weather. Leans feminine but could be unisex.

Such a gentle vanilla! Very likeable and pleasant. Well-balanced, a good amount of sweetness with a nice amber-musk base. I do think it's overpriced for what it is, but it's good nonetheless.

I wonder if some of the people who find that this leans masculine are actually referring to Gentle Fluidity Silver? This is quite feminine to my nose. For me, it performs much better as a cold weather fragrance. I purchased in the spring and wore it sporadically but wasn’t in love and by summer, I barely reached for it as I found it overwhelming and a bit too mature. I also was initially unable to detect much of the juniper berries. However, I decided to give it another go this evening and oh my goodness…. magical. Delectable blend of vanilla and berries and whatever other notes are in play that make this completely unique. It’s now a love and I’m so glad that I reached for it again.

Also: the Roses Vanille/ Delox/ Instant Cafe comparisons—no. Seriously, no.

Coffeeandscents12/04/22 08:52

It took me a little while to understand what I was smelling. This is not a straightforward typical vanilla scent. I think what was throwing me off was the juniper berries scent note. This smells like a soft powdery sweet vanilla mixed with Christmas pine needles and berries. It really is beautiful and I love it. Perfect for all seasons but it reminds me of Christmas time.

This is very sweet and pairs nicely with Gentle Fluidity Silver.

Gentle Fluidity Gold is a very beautiful, soft spicy vanilla and amber scent, it feels very light and airy but at the same time elegant and noticeable. You will definitely stand out when wearing this, it's not your typical generic, designer scent. 100% unisex and could easily be a signature scent.

I prefer to wear my fragrances for a while before I leave a review. I have worn GFG for the past year in all types of weather and occasions. It shines in Fall and Spring, when I get around 8 hours of longevity on my skin and clothes, with moderate projection.

It's much colder now (end of November) and whenever I wear it, it doesn't last as long - 4-6 hours max with very little projection. Because it's so light and airy it tends to perform better in Fall and Spring, when it's not too cold - at least on me.

This is a scent profile I really enjoy, and I also own Montale Intense Cafe, Xerjoff K'Bridge Club and Zara Rose Gourmand. Out of four, Gentle Fluidity Gold is still my favourite, followed by K'Bridge Club. These two are the most well blended and refined. Intense Cafe is very strong and potent and that's the one I grab when it's really cold and GFG doesn't last well.

I saw a lot of people complain about the colour of the juice - my first travel-sized bottle (11ml) from an MFK discovery kit was purple, the 35ml bottle I bought after was also purple. I recently bought a 70ml which is, again, purple, but two other 11ml travel-sizes I bought while waiting for the 70ml to come back in stock this fall are gold!

On me, the juice from all bottles performs the same, regardless of colour. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this has been reformulated at some point in the last couple of years. Before I tried it, I heard many people say it's a beast-mode fragrance, and after wearing it for almost a year, I wouldn't say that's true. It's a stunning fragrance, it has good performance but it's definitely not beast-mode.

Child Chemist11/30/22 03:27

First impression: a strong, jammy, vanillic rose, opposed by wood, musk, and a blended juniper.

The Scentimentalist11/24/22 10:40

It smells of good quality but the scent is not my cup of tea. Starts off fresh and potent with a strong, sharp, metallic juniper note that dominates the first half of the progression. There is some sweetness but it is not fruity. The second stage is more vanilla forward as the metallic juniper fades away. The composition as a whole is not very balanced and has some dramatic tension. An odd one.

This is lovely and I appreciate that it has no flower notes because I’m always looking for scents that are somewhat allergy friendly for the folks around me (does it work like that?) but…I’ve definitely smelled this (or dupes) on people out and about. So, to me it loses specialness for that reason, and at this price point I would want something more unique!

What a beautiful, sparkling and almost gourmand vanilla - the scent itself is irresistible, so well blended, and clearly there’s much more to it than just vanilla. Sadly, as others have mentioned, its lasting power and throw aren’t fantastic, I think this varies a lot with skin chemistry, temperature, humidity etc. Sometimes it becomes a skin scent after two hours, although on a few occasions it lasted more than 4-5 hours. It’s very comforting and there is something here that is reminiscent of coffee, although it’s not nearly as screechy as Intense Cafe. One scent that I would compare it with is the gorgeous Cafe Tuberosa - although they don’t smell the same, they share a similar effervescent sweetness.

Perfumepusher11/19/22 15:17

Blind bought this and I looove it! To me it smells nothing like the notes, it’s a semi sweet vanilla cloud with lovely musk. I was afraid it would be similar to scents like eau duelle or gipsy water but it’s not! Not even a bit

I’m starting to think there is something seriously wrong with my nose since all I’m smelling is play doh vanilla 😅

Dramaloladiva11/16/22 16:44

This is a beautiful and interesting take on vanilla but unfortunately, no matter the season of the year, I just cannot smell this scent without developing an instant headache 😔😔😔
Makes me so sad…
Also, for some very weird reason, I smell a faint scent of olives in this…😂 don’t ask me why, I am as puzzled as anyone…

Refined sweet woody vanilla - I am absolutely obsessed with this. I've been layering it with BR540 Extrait and it is all I ever need in this life🥹

The reason people compare it to Intense Cafe or whatever may come to mind, is because the scent is not entirely unique so there might be similarities. However, compared to the others, this definitely smells high end, well-rounded and perfectly blended. It is a warm and cozy fragrance, whilst being classy and sexy. Additionally, it is very versatile as it's suitable for any time of the day, all year round.

In terms of longevity, it last throughout the day. My friend often wears it, and I can smell it whenever she passes by or if I'm walking behind her even for hours at a time. Projection and sillage wise, it is more on the moderate side. This is using 4-5 sprays as my friend does, so I'm speaking from my experience of her having it on. Projection/sillage can of course be increased, as I, on the other hand, usually wear 7-8 sprays (or 4-5 if layered with BR540 Extrait) and reapply in the afternoon.

This scent is absolutely beautiful and well executed. I highly recommend this to whoever wants to smell classy yet sexy, sweet yet powerful.

FragranceWitch111/11/22 05:27

A beautiful scent that gets a lot of critique. I mean, it is not unique, no, I have certainly smelled something like this before. It is nice however. Soft powdery vanilla with hints of berries and woods. Very relaxing and perfect for an everyday wear. Could be worn all year round but for me preferably colder weather.

Luckily I do not get a baby wipe smell in here like I do in Cassili from PDM. Now that's a *gross* baby wipe smell. Sorry not sorry. ♡

Wow. This is a gorgeous and sexy fragrance. I don't get people hating this lovely scent. The downside is too expensive, especially for its size, 70ml.

Rating: 8.5/10

I bought this expecting a nice soft vanilla fragrance...this is totally NOT!
It smells more like a Gin-soaked baby-wipe. Now I don't mind a gin note in a fragrance...but mixed with the baby-wipe scent...it's kinda off-putting. It's gotta be the Juniper Berries in this mix...
I already have "Lempicka - Green Lover" and I don't need another "Gin-Vanilla" frag...certainly not one THIS expensive!!!
"Green Lover" projects way more than this one seems to and costs a fraction of the price!

I'm not sure if I'll ever wear this out...may just resell to a friend that has already been asking me about it.
Yeah, let me send them a text and let them know it's available for pickup next week...

Rating: 1/10

I don’t know if there was a reformulation of this or what but this is not the gentle fluidity gold that I remember.
It used to be a beautiful soft and warm vanilla with a touch of aromatics but now I get NO vanilla. As many have mentioned, that baby wipe resemblance is STRONG and if I were to describe the bottle I picked up it would be: baby wipes and grandma mixed with grass.

Oh not to mention the liquid was PURPLE. I didn’t realise that along with changing the scent, we were also changing the meaning of colours??
I don’t know about you, but if I buy something with gold in the name, I’d want it to be gold.
I know many people have experienced the same purple issue as when I returned it they mentioned it had been getting a lot of returns because of it.
However, they did try to explain it by saying that they tested it and nothing was wrong and that something happened during shipping that turned them purple.
I don’t believe that for a SECOND, this would be my second bottle of this and if I were to compare the scents blindfolded I wouldn’t even guess that they share the same DNA.

Is it possible that I just got a faulty batch? Most likely, but I wouldn’t spend a penny on this wallet draining fragrance unless they can confirm that this issue was fixed.

Personally I’d rather not spend a mortgage payment on baby wipes that grandma used to wipe the grass…

torturedsoulboy11/04/22 01:40

This is an amazing tangy vanilla, which puts other candle type of fragrances like Eau Duelle to shame. If you're one of the people who don't smell what you're supposed to - deal with it, you're in the minority and there's nothing you can do except stop convincing others that this sucks. It happens to me to for a few fragrances like Side Effect. People next to me all smell it as described, but I don't. So, just so you know - it's you and your deficient nose and not the perfume that's at fault here, which like I said is amazing.

Smells brighter on paper and less bright on my skin which is perfect because I'm a man. This is absolutely the best vanilla fragrance I've smelled and I have sampled over 400 fragrances.

haleykbhenry11/02/22 20:00

This is for when you wanna take your vanilla perfume game to the elegant and bold side of life. I was amazed by its beauty and loved it even more when Heart Evangelista confirmed that she also wears this. This fits the beautiful profile of someone like her because she’s a literal goddess. If you want a bold vanilla with elegance and grace then please sample this :)

perfumesniffer11/02/22 10:23

Ok, I am having a huge issue this year with non-stop perfume purchases. At least this time I tested a 2mL spray decant before buying the bottle (just bought it this morning, will have in my hot little hands soon!).

Anyway, I did not expect to love this. Don't even get me started about BR540, suffice it to say that is not my thing. But Gentle Fluidity Gold is simply beautiful! I will say that the projection and longevity is not enough, but I'm hoping once I get the bottle I can overspray and have it last and be more noticeable. GFG starts off in an oudy way like Mancera Instant Crush, which I hate! (I detest oud). But after about 5-10 minutes that oudy quality dissipates and it becomes more noticeably about juniper and an herbal woody freshness along with the vanilla. It does seem like a minimalist scent -- I only detect 2-3 notes (juniper, vanilla and wood) most of the time. It just works with my chemistry and I think it smells great! I'd describe it as a minimalist oriental vanilla that has a bit of an oudy-juniper note that lessens over time. Definitely unisex and not gourmand. It's really kind of marvelous. I'll come back and update once I get my bottle if anything changes.

Scent 9/10
Longevity/sillage 5/10

PS: realizing this reminds me of another aromatic vanilla fragrance I love, Annick Goutal Vanille Charnelle

PPS: so after I bought the bottle and have worn several times I need to share that the longevity & sillage are pretty bad. Only lasts about 2 hours with no projection. I’m sad.

LavenderDream10/31/22 12:40

It’s pretty but just not for me.

Disappointed. I can't smell almost any of the spices, it's mostly vanilla and wood, and not nice vanilla. After 1-2 hours I can’t smell anything. Maybe my skin eats it or i am anosmic to something.

Dina France10/29/22 11:41

I hate the opening: Musk is sharp and blends with Amber not in the best way, making vanilla sound synthetic with too much powder (that’s where people get the baby wipes, I think).
But 10 min later it settles nicely on my skin and projects with juniper berries, slightly sweetened with vanilla that takes a feminine form.
Definitely try it on your skin and see how chemistry works.

Allthingssparkle10/29/22 05:51

THIS is MY Instant Crush. Oh, my soul. I was, frankly, disappointed with Mancera's Instant Crush and I'm glad I only bought a sample of it. I've tried it several different times, and it's just . . . missing something. It smells like leather, wood and cardboard to me. On me, it's flat without spark, not sweet or floral or juicy. Which is okay if you like that, but I don't....

The second I sprayed Gentle Fluidity Gold, I fell in love. It was my first time sampling any Kirkdijan fragrance. I IMMEDIATELY smelled Instant Crush -- but with the elements I, personally, was missing! The notes in GFG include Juniper Berries, and that's what I think I wanted in IC -- a fruity or sweet element that just wasn't there.

That said, I definitely won't be paying full price for this, so I'll be looking for a good dupe. But, it's a GORGEOUS fragrance.

If I were a signature scent top of person this would be it. I receive tons of compliments when I wear this amazing perfume. It provide of feeling confidence in another level.

I quite enjoyed this! The vanilla was more prominent than I expected and the other notes were incredibly balanced out. Fantastic all rounder scent but I think it'd shine best in the autumn and spring as it's got this comforting aura to it but nothing gourmand. It smells like it's really good quality and it's 100% signature-worthy.

Also I don't know how many of you have tried black vanilla by mancera but I see lots of similarities here. If you want something fruitier, give that a go too and I think you'd like it just as much!

I purchased a sample and really enjoyed it. Its a vanilla with uniqueness; I get the juniper berry and nutmeg notes, however i’m not willing to pay full price for this. I ended up purchasing the Julianna’s Perfume dupe and it is extremely similar for a much better price. The longevity may not be as beastly but I still smelled it on my dress almost a week after I sprayed it. I have received a few compliments, but today someone told me I smelled like wet cardboard! Lmao I don’t know what he’s smelling because it’s no where near that. I asked someone how I smelled a few minutes later and they said I smelled good. Crazy how everyones nose is different.

Ultimately this scent is lovely for fall. Very expensive smelling and good for a special occasion or a night on the town. If you don’t go too ham with the sprays it can be a lovely signature scent.

Oh, I also think this smells a little bit like Vanilla 28 from Kayali!

It smells like baby wipes to me! Pleasant smelling but not like an expensive fragrance, pass on this one.

For people who like it BUT cannot afford the steep price, recommend try ALEXANDRIA PERFUMES. High quality clone at a very decent price will blow you away. They also have their own original creations too.

This is clearly a lovely, chic Amber in a gorgeous bottle but my skin just repels it. It disappeared after an hour.

Rien à voir avec Intense café de Montale. C'est une vanille légère. Similaire à l'odeur des poupées Corolle.

Gentle Fluidity Gold was a love the first time I tried it. It is a bright ambery vanilla. It is light, airy and almost delicate while still being warm and cozy. The spices are very subtle, I can't pick them out, but the vanilla does smell softly spiced. The wood note is quite light and dry.
I see the comparison to Intense Cafe/Roses Vanille and I do see a similarity, but Gentle Fluidity Gold is far from a dupe. The spiced vanilla is pretty similar, but in the Montale/Mancera fragrances it is thick, heavy and dark. In this fragrance it's more of a cloud of vanilla that floats all around.

This is an amazing option for a signature scent. It suits all weather and occasion and is easy to like. It smells classy and expensive but still approachable. It's feminine, but leans unisex and I can see people of all ages enjoying it. It's not mature or youthful...just beautiful.

The performance is decent, but I would have liked a little more for the price. It lasts reasonably well, 6-8 hours, but has a light projection. A more generous application does help with projection, but I feel like I am spraying actual gold, considering the price. It's a beautiful enough scent that I did suck it up and splurged for a full bottle...the small one.

Ok so I had a sample of this perfume. I own montale intense cafe as well. I sprayed them on a paper and I was like. Omg...They smell so allike. This is like another version of montale. I waited for the next day to try them both on my skin. And omg! No! they are different on my skin..like...different. I wouldnt say that they are twins...Theyre more like cousins. But wooow. I enjoyed this version better than the montale. Montale have this screechy scent to it and it does give me a sour vibe on my skin. But this one doesnt. No screechy. It smells like it was blended so well together and so yummy. The powder of it probably settled it down a bit? I think that''s wat it is because that's the vibe i sort of got from it. The longtevity lasted on me all dayyy! I do get overwelm with montale sometime because it is just so strong even with just one spray. But this one here blends so well with my skin. There is no sour or screechy smell to it. I do not know how to explain it but it smells so smooth! This will be the next perfume I will buy from mfk. Like I love this! I will still keep my intense cafe because she does smell different on my skin to this one. I felt like montale is more of a winter and fall kind of scent. But this one I can literally wear it everyday except for summer. I love this...But do try it before you buy it. This one is a yes for me

i remember i got a sample from a friend. without knowing the notes, i had a sniff and my first impression was - wow it smells like what a boss lady would wear. confident, charming, classy and got everything she wants. honestly i have no idea what juniper berries smells like. some people find the juniper berries too sharp? or green? idk, i just love it here, it is so well blended.

i bought rose gourmand just bc many said it was a cheaper dupe. nope. not even close. i get where they are coming from but rose gourmand has this sort of sharp artificial smell to it that can induce a headache for me after smelling it for too long. GFG is waaaay smoother and classier imo.

I really love this fragrance, however at this price point, I expected much more longevity and an impressive sillage, which I just didn’t get. It’s a lovely, warm, intimate scent that just doesn’t project in my opinion.

taragsmellzbomb09/26/22 15:29

This is literally Vanilla Woods. I’ll stick to that for half the price.

This is Intense Cafe by Montale in MFK bottle with higher price tag. Greasy lactonic sugary vanilla!

This is a doll head smell, to me. The drydown reminds me of Lush American Cream

This is classy lady in a bottle. Signature scent worthy.
Not overpowering, not overly sweet, not floral, not spicy. To my nose it is really well blended amber fragrance for woman that has this kind of a nutty, like hazelnut filling in chocolate and somehow it also smells like chocolate orange, do not now how, but it is super creamy. Probably that’s why so many comparisons to Roses Vanille etc, super creamy chocolaty vibe.
When I red the notes I thought it would be somewhat similar to Gypsy Water or Eau Duelle, but no. I do not get any of the notes, it is blended like magic.

This is a really beautiful perfume. I get mainly vanilla, but it’s not a synthetic or cloying scent. Something, maybe the musk, makes this vanilla airy, to the point where it almost feels as if it’s floating away from the skin. It lasts all day and projects like crazy. It’s actually so persistent and fills up the room so much that I found it hard to integrate into my lifestyle. If you want everyone to notice your scent, but you also want a nice, soothing, vanilla that’s not sticky sweet or overwhelmed by loads of other accords, this is a good choice.

sicilianscents09/17/22 07:47

Gorgeous! This is classy and elegant. A warm vanilla amber fragrance with a sharpness from the juniper. Not the most unique, this perfume could likely be compared to other perfume houses, but beautiful nonetheless and worth a sample to try.

Beautiful musky vanilla, it envelopes you like a comforting hug from a loved one. Classy and 100% signature scent worthy, easily for everyday and every season.
Reminds me of a more sophisticated and smoother Flowerbomb Dew, one of my loves, but I love this one more ❤️

vivi.ilioudi09/14/22 11:44

It reminds me of Delina. Classy, elegant ambery vanilla but nothing outstanding or haven't been smelled before.

Delicate blend of gin and tonic wrapped with delectable vanilla. Outstanding and sophisticated. Like no other. The best from MFK. Excellent performance in a league of its own. Phenomenal. This was my scent this summer while on vacation in Europe and it made me feel like a princess everyday!!

Nothing gentle about this! Way too strong, I am quite conservative with my scents; unless you wear this on your waist, under your clothes, or behind the knee if wearing a skirt/shorts. Just 1 spray. I had a scent on paper in my opened purse, and I could smell it because of the booziness. This is great, say if you are outdoors/mall/large party, needs wide space; not in an office setting. However, I do think this would make a great gift.

Deprechienne08/31/22 01:10

I bought the MFK Wardrobe for Her box, wanting to try on Oud Satin Mood and Baccarat Rouge 540 prior to purchasing a full bottle. I was expecting to fall in those two but to my surprise, this one made me fall head over heels. A gorgeous warm vanilla scent, extremely comforting and has so far lasted hours. A quick breath of this is a perfect way to cheer me up while at work.

One of my most favorite perfumes of all times. This is such timeless, feminine and universally flattering. This is a lovely fragrance that has one of the smoothest vanilla notes I have ever smelled. This is so delicately sweet, angelic and sophisticated.
Most prominent note is vanilla, amber and musk. But through this sweet vanilla cloud, I pick up small hints of spices (coriander and nutmeg) and juniper berries. As with all MFK fragrance, this perfume is so multifaceted…it changes on your skin throughout day and shines different notes on vanilla-amber base.
This is signature scent worthy. Very appropriate for any woman and any occasion. It performs great, 8 hours of wear at least and radiates within arm length.
Safe blind purchase of you are into vanilla/sweet/gourmand scents. 100% recommended

This perfume smells so nice on paper, but on my skin it became soooo sour (but also overly sweet) & almost boozy (yet there's no boozy ingredient? go figure). There have only ever been 2 perfumes that have made me want to rub my skin off due to the overbearing smell of sourness: this one & Dama Bianca by Xerjoff. They both smell so good on those tester papers, but then absolutely putrid once sprayed onto my skin. Such a shame because I so badly wanted to like Gentle Fluidity!

Apparently this is a vanilla fragrance, but if you asked me what it smelled like without knowing that I don't think I would have said vanilla. I don't really love vanilla scents but I do enjoy this. It's hard to describe in my opinion. I so wish I could find a dupe for this because I like the perfume just fine, but I ADORE the way it smells lingering on my clothing the next day. I swear this scent was stuck on my seatbelt in my car for like weeks after I wore it and every time I got in my car it was a delight. I simply can't justify the price for only loving the way it smells days later. It's similar to intense cafe, but not enough for them to be dupes. I tried ALT's version and its more a dupe for intense cafe than this. They just don't have the same whatever it is in the dry down of this one that I love so much.

Viktorija_Stockholm08/23/22 15:11

Beautiful perfume, opens almost as a generic female fragrance but then you feel how well blended it is. It’s a bit sweet, a bit citrusy, elegant and expensive. Downside is that it has a short longevity, and silage. I can spray 5-6 times where’s BR504 I would spray 1-2 times. But as a creation is beautiful. Have in mind that there are two Gentle Fuidity products.gold and silver.

GFG is a beautiful warm amber-y vanilla that leans slightly sharp on me in the opening due to the juniper. Once it dries down I get the nutmeg and orris which gives it the powdery aspect. I'm in love with this fragrance! It's so beautiful, elegant, sophisticated. It mellows out to a skin scent on me after 3hrs or so. (My skin eats fragrances so longevity is usually better for others.) However, I don't mind reapplying throughout the day. I can see this fragrance being great to wear all year for both day time and night. It's definitely signature scent worthy and I think it's my new one!

I’m not a musk woman at all… so I almost didn’t get this because musk is listed in the notes. Then one day my customer came in leaving this beautiful trail and I asked her what she was wearing and it was GFG. I got a sample just to see how it would work on my skin…. And I had to get it ! Oooh this is just a beautiful pretty fragrance and this is the second MFK that I had to get because of the trail it left.

This smells like a very "safe perfume" to me but its so well done I think its really pleasant. I don't normally enjoy vanilla-dominant scents but I think MFK is really great with handling this note. I love how well blended the vanilla with the Juniper Berry and Nutmeg is, I find it very pretty and feminine. Although sometimes I do think its a bit shampoo-leaning, it does so in a pleasant, youthful way. I'm really surprised by the Montale comparisons as they're nothing alike other than perhaps a comparable sweet/slightly fuzzy profile in the main body of the fragrance. I love Intense Cafe and Ritretto, but they are rose dominant with the initial blast of coffee. I would liken Gentle Fluidity Gold to Gypsy Water from Byredo because of the sweet Juniper Berry and vanilla combo is so distinct. Not a ground breaking scent but I can see myself wearing this on nights out when I want something pretty and effortless.

I have ristretto intense café and yet I also bought this fragrance & here’s why:

They have major similarities yes but the difference in quality and smoothness is where they differ.

Ristretto it just too synthetic albeit it’s still a stunning fragrance.

GFG is so well blended, the quality of the notes are beautiful. It’s more refined and rich. The vanilla is so elegant.
That’s the major difference.

« Niche » is not just producing fragrances that are original but it’s the quality that makes Niche fragrances more refined, smooth and elevated.

Montale for me produces fragrances that are too screechy and harsh. I love them nonetheless!

If you have the money and are debating getting a fragrance with this IMO then you won’t regret it. If on a budget then intense cafe / ristretto is a great option.

PS: layer this with BR540! Masterpiece!

Yikes, this is a huge disappointment. The opening of Gentle Fluidity Gold is horrific! It gave me a migraine. Loud, sour, and sharp, it was nothing like what I expected. The juniper berry note was overpowering on my skin, and I ended up smelling like white wine. While the dry down is a bit better, the vanilla smells like any cheap body lotion you can find...

Nothing about this perfume is worth it. Absurdly priced, overhyped, and extremely synthetic, GFG is easily my least favorite from MFK. Spend your $300 on anything else.

stephanie_hplove08/14/22 06:50

I don’t understand why this has so many bad reviews! I don’t have the most trained nose or anything like that but I do enjoy niche perfumery as well as tons of designer brands and as someone who does’t gravitate towards sweet scents, I have to say I was very impressed by this fragrance! It’s beautiful and rich. It’s spicy vanilla, delicious, rich smelling, and nonchalant. This is my favourite from this house and one I will probabbly buy again and again. This gives date night, but It could also be a staple scent. It’s perfect.

stefani valini08/13/22 13:20

Very over hype, I was expecting more. Not worth the price. It reminds me something, but I can't put my finger on. Its déjà-vu, its smells like water with sugar in it.

I honestly felt a little let down with this fragrance. After the success of BR540, and all of the YouTube hype around GFG, I just expected "more". This is a fairly soft and non-descript vanilla, that is pleasant enough, but the performance is sorely lacking - especially at this price point. Not worth the price of a full bottle for me.

oh boy I’m so disappointed. It’s Very generic smelling. It Smells synthetic jut like a shampoo does! For me it’s definitely not worth the hype

jadesfragrances07/31/22 02:47

soft, clean, powdery vanilla with a gentle sweetness about it. more powder than vanilla on me personally, though i’d prefer it to be the other way round. i’m not getting the comparisons to intense cafe by montale, though for what it’s worth i prefer IC as for me it performs a lot better - though in terms of actual scent they’re very different imo.
overall it is a nice fragrance, though i think it’s a little too light for me - i can’t smell it much on myself, even immediately after spraying so i personally don’t think it’s worth the price. i can’t see anyone really disliking this in terms of scent, there’s definitely nothing harsh/overwhelming or off-putting about it, i just think the poor performance lets it down which is a shame because otherwise it’d be a perfect casual, everyday scent.

Not worth the price. To my nose it's a perfectly pleasant but also fairly generic softly softly quiet vanilla body lotion scent.

HecateZeusIsis07/27/22 10:11

It does smell like intense cafe, but that smells dense syrupy and cloying to me where as this is a much more refined and airy version. I can’t stand the smell of intense Cafe, but this is just perfect 🤩

I first ordered a sample of Gentle Fluidity off of Twisted Lily. I fell in love with it, I purchased the full size.
I agree with the comparison to Intense Cafe but find GF much more refined. I smell sweet vanilla and musk. It is such a uplifting fragrance.

I find this vanilla airy, fluffy like spun sugar. Without the sticky sweetness of a vanilla candyfloss. It's very gentle and slightly powdery.

Reminds me of Intense Cafe which I already have.

To me, unfortunately, this smells just like Intense Cafe by Montale, which I don’t like. Weird because the notes are not similar.

AlaskanAngel07/19/22 16:15

Loud opening, too sweet, disjointed dry down with a hint of sweat. Review of spray sample that came free with purchase.

For me it is not worth the hype.I expected a lot more....It seems like a plain vanilla-ambery fragrance to me.Disappointing.

To me it is the typical of SI Armani and xerjoff kclub, strong and long lasting, always get compliments when I am wearing it. It is definitely on the sweater side .

Comicalcupcake07/14/22 21:55

This is a soft sweet ambery vanilla. I get the comparisons to Commodity Gold, which I wore a lot of last winter. It does have something a little sharp to my nose for the first hour or so, which I wasn't a fan of. But that settled down and now I love it. I plan to update this review as I get to know my sample.

Lipglossjunkee07/14/22 09:08

I adore this! So easy to wear, and it leaves a calming and happy feeling that lasts all day. This is not a beast--it sits close to the skin but does last a good 10-12hours on me. It's very expertly blended, so no single note sticks out more than others, but I do get a sort of vanilla/musk/nutmeg trifecta from it with a woodsy base. It was well worth the blind buy.

amber & vanilla but slightly nauseating as it edges into the cleaning fluid territory.

Huge disappointment. I've heard such amazing things about this scent like how it's one of the best vanillas or that it's very sexy, cozy and sweet so I was very excited and had high expectations from this since I love vanilla scents. I blind bought this and tried it a few times and can confidently say that this smells horrible on me no matter how many times I tried it. To be exact it smells like warm citrus chestnut diaper urine on me. I'd like to believe that this is actually an amazing scent and is as great as how others have described it, I just don't think it smells good on me. I returned this for grand soir and love that scent so much more.

To me, this is an adult classy and sexy vanilla fragrance. It’s not a full on gourmand, not too sweet either. It’s warm, strong yet airy. It lasts for hours and hours on my skin.. On clothing, I can still smell it even after laundered.

Worth it!!!

This one is a love at first sniff! Light airy vanilla with slight tart-herbal touch, possibly from the juniper and coriander combo. Elegant, unique vanilla scent... great for layering.
My husband says it smells like play-doh... Guess it's not for everyone LOL
I wouldn't buy this at retail prices though. It's overpriced like most MFKs.
But I have to admit the whole MFK DNA has this airiness to it that's pretty unique.

Reply to kimjoline9 - I think it's from the vanilla in this fragrance, which gets darker over time into a purple/brownish shade. I'm excited for mine to get darker and richer!

can someone explain why the juice is sometimes lilac and sometimes not? i bought it and i was surprised that i was purple since i thought the juice was clear.. i bought it from the mfk official website btw

Nicole love07/05/22 05:17

Very synthetic smelling. For the cost you can get much better elsewhere

sarahtheperfumelover07/03/22 06:43

An ethereal semi-gourmand. I really like this! When I first tried my 2ml spray sample I didn’t know what to think. I just sensed powder and musk. It wasn’t until I wore it to work that I started to appreciate it. I kept getting these sweet whiffs that reminded me of homemade chocolate chip cookies. The finest cookie dusting. This is not a thick, syrupy gourmand yet it has a fluffy, delicate but present sweetness. I sense the coriander and juniper but it’s so well blended that nothing punches me in the face. Lasting power is very good on my skin, 8+ hours and even longer on clothes. This may be blasphemous but I spritzed one spray of this and another of BR540 Extrait over it and mmmm baby. The dry down. I forgot I had done it and smelled my sleeve. Gorgeous.

fragrandesi06/28/22 10:24

I feel like this fragrance can vary so much bottle to bottle. For my bottle (which the vanilla and made a soft purple juice) it translates as a cold powdery vanilla. It’s an addictive sense that comes off clean and hints of alcohol but in an incredibly smooth way. I don’t get vanilla bomb but it definitely is there and creates a soft amber scent. Longevity is also great if i spritz in my hair by mistake I’ll smell it even after washing. I did recently smell a bottle at Neiman’s and I noticed I got way more juniper and less of that clean sterile scent (which actual makes it more unique). I would say definitely smell the bottle you are about to purchase if you can as I liked the one in store less (definitely wasn’t Silver either).

Markéta Rybínová06/28/22 07:50

Thank goodness that I only ordered a sample and didn't just put on a review on TikTok and at first a nice composition.

I was really looking forward to trying this fragrance, I really wanted to buy it in full size, but I'm grateful that I tried such an expensive perfume first. Thanks to that, I saved a few thousand CZK.
When I first sprayed the perfume, I immediately smelled Intense Cafe from Montale, which I can't stand, and it literally makes my stomach sick. This feeling lasted quite a long time, maybe 40 minutes, and then the scent "quite gave way".
What I have to admit, longevity is unbelievable! I hated the perfume ony myself, so I wanted to wash my hand so that I would not have to smell something I was not feeling well about, but in vain. Even after washing, I smelled it quite a lot. I gave the scent a second chance the next day, when it really lasted all day to smell pleasant - no heavy scent that would bother the surroundings. She was just bothering me and my stomach. So for me, it really isn't, although I'd love to.

However, if you like the fragrance from Montale, then this will be the perfume for you. She is much more sophisticated than Intense Cafe and more sexy for me.

God I wanted to like this so bad :( smells cheap. smells like Play doh and it is sickeningly sweet. scrubbing off

sweet, creamy vanilla. smell of baking chocolate chip cookies. the gourmand-y sweetness of MFK is really surprising me.

This is very much a unisex fragrance, Reviews are leaning feminine but I disagree. One of the best vanilla fragrances out there and it lasts me a good 7 hours. A good blind buy that will not dissapoint.

I really love this scent. It’s got that “your skin but better” feel to it - it’s a refined sweet amber, sweet musk, airy & aromatic, vanillic leaning (not boozy, dense or gourmand) and lives up to its name with “gentle”projection but amazing longevity. Just lovely.

what are yall on about, this smells nothing like roses vanille (i dont like roses vanille)

sarahjayne_uk06/20/22 12:30

Let me start off by saying, I love MFK and I love vanilla, and this was a blind buy!

This fragrance for me, opens vanilla, then quickly turns into a vanilla baby talc scent, and leaves as vanilla little woody dry down. This, for me, sits close to the skin and my fav summer vanilla fragrance, I also layer this with montale arabians tonka - if you know, you know! It softens the scent and feminines it.

Ordered online directly from MFK in 35ml EDP.

If anyone can recommend a decent, long lasting, beast mode, vanilla for the autumn / winter - please let me know :)

Meh. Pretty, I guess, but MFK has this sharpness I can't get past-seems to be in most of the line to me. I'm sure it's just my post covid nose, but if I smell rubbing alcohol at all, it's a no for me. It is soft, and I'm sure very layerable. Just not of an impact for the money, in my opinion.

Unlike its Silver counterpart, this perfume knocks back much of the spices, to the overall benefit of the composition. The amber and vanilla is nothing revolutionary, and is in fact not worthy of the prices MFK commands.

The softness and amount of layers in this fragrance is beyond imaginable. As a huge fan of vanilla this will forever be one of my favourite ones.

hallonvanilla06/08/22 05:50

First the scent reminds me of fresh, dry forest. The vanilla becomes the dominating note quite quickly and it stays this way throughout. When testing on paper the scent feels slightly soapy, but on my skin I don't detect this. As a huge fan of vanilla I enjoy the perfume, but I feel like the experience is a bit too monotone. I wish the opening scent would last a while longer, that would make it more interesting. The lasting power is not the best, but the vanilla does linger on my skin for quite a while. All in all, I do really like Gentle Fluidity Gold and I could see myself wearing this as an everyday perfume, but I don't think it would be worth buying a full bottle.

ang3l0nline06/06/22 21:27

Really surprised by how many people have such a dislike for aromatic amber vanilla scents….. I tend to steer clear of amber-vanilla focused fragrances because there are just so many mediocre homogenous ones out there. But this one stuck out to me the minute I smelled it. The opening is very cooling to the nose & closely followed by a woody resinous vanilla, it reminds me of sucking milk off a cinnamon stick & when your nose gets a bit of cold air for once from leaving the steamy cup. I too adore this scent for sleep on its own… I also love pairing it with Jasmin Rouge from Tom Ford. Another pairing I love is with Aqua Celestia from MFK. The juniper berries and cool mint together, the bergamot & red currant over the amber vanilla base its just everything I wanna smell like. Not everyones gonna appreciate genius… But I do. This is truly such a versatile vanilla. On the drydown & after its sat for a bit, I definitely pull more nutmeg, but its still soft and sweet. Its such an inviting scent it makes people want to get close to you. Personally I like this more than BR540.

laneyckelly06/01/22 06:47

I'm searching for my perfect vanilla and I really wanted to love this, but we are not a match made. This stays quite linear on my skin and pulls very masculine. I love the concept of clean vanilla but the juniper berries add a sharpness to the fragrance that I can't get past.

Motherofhavok05/28/22 06:53

I’m glad this was just a sample. Is it a bad vanilla? No. Can I relate to the reviews calling it “grown up” or “luxurious”? Not at all. I like plain vanilla musks, but I can get this basic fragrance from almost anywhere.

If Coty’s Vanilla Musk and Juliette Has A Gun’s Vanilla Vibes had a baby, this would be it. It’s got a musky, scented candle vanilla like Vanilla Musk, and a heavy ambroxan (or some other molecule synthetic ambergris ingredient) addition like Vanilla Vibes. It’s just nice. If you buy this, it’s not because it’s unique or even really good. It will be purely for the street cred that comes with having a chic and expensive perfume bottle on display. I love Francis Kurkdjian as a perfumer, and I think it’s incredible how different he made the gold and silver editions of Gentle Fluidity, but the price tag is way, way off for the type of simple fragrance this is.

jamileenotcurtis05/27/22 20:52

I wasn’t expecting to love this fragrance as much as BR 540 when I got my sample with purchase, but now I am second guessing buying BR 540! This scent is a dream come true. Beautiful ozonic vanilla in the most grown up way possible. It reminds me of the vanilla in Billie Eilish’s EDP Eilish but this is so much more intoxicating. The musk on my skin is one of the sweetest musk’s I have ever experienced and the lasting power on this is about 6-8hrs on me if I overspray. For the price it should last much longer and project much better but I honestly agree with a few others on here that this may perhaps be the most beautiful fragrance I’ve ever smelled. It’s so addicting and intoxicating to me that I can’t stop smelling it whenever I wear it. There is another note in here that I cannot put my finger on that constantly makes me want to smell this scent. I wish it lasted longer but at the same time I’m happy to not have to save up a small fortune to purchase the full size because I know it’s not worth the price tag because of the lasting power. Call it basic or whatever but to me this fragrance is a masterpiece.

almondluver105/25/22 18:48

It smells like sweet white wine lol. Like vanilla and booze. Very odd 🤔 but in a good way! It has the same type of musky & super-sweet base as Roses Vanille which I think is what makes them smell kind of similar to each other. However, this one doesn’t have rose and is mainly a vanilla dominant perfume with hints of corriander and nutmeg to give it a Middle Eastern feel and it’s a bit aromatic too.

kawaiishopph05/22/22 02:34

just finished testing it.
the dry down is purely IsoE super
not worth the price tag at all.

I can't smell almost any of the spices, it's mostly vanilla, good and inoffensive, without much personality. While it is not listed, I think the base here is ambroxan, which gets a very specific scent on my skin, and would also explain why so many people get different scents from this perfume. After 6+ hours on my skin I can only smell the ambroxan.
As I said, inoffensive, but for this price I'd like a little more than "inoffensive".

Second review of this because I keep revisiting my sample. It’s probably up there with one of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve ever smelt. But the longevity and projection on this is absolutely abysmal, I get that it’s supposed to be gentle as the name suggests but after an hour this is GONE!

If you’re going to pay this much for a perfume I’d expect it to last at least a few hours… I wish there was other stuff like this, it isn’t your ordinary offensive play-doh vanilla that can smell cheap, this smells expensive, comforting and rich. But I would advise if you dislike powders then do not bother with this. I’m going to finish up my sample tonight and see how it wears on me, because I am still torn between buying a bigger bottle. The longevity of this just makes me scream and I purchased the sample from MFK’s website so it’s not fake… I love this perfume but I don’t think it loves my skin chemistry sadly.

Edit: It struggled to even last an hour, I’m very sad. That first spray and hour is gorgeous but this perfume just does not last on me. Goodbye sample.

Cherry_Darling05/12/22 06:36

Yeah I'm super surpsied there is no rose in here! My first thought was rose, then vanilla and musk. Definitely like a less screetchy intense cafe, which I love but it can be overwhelming. This one is toned down a bit more sophisticated but same vibe for sure. Very oriental with the nutmeg and coriander, still waiting on that juniper berry.

** 200 samples for swap UK - check my custom shelf, get in touch! **

Controlledbyscent3105/10/22 00:57

This is a lighter less syrupy version of intense cafe without the coffee note.
I also get the similaritys to rose gourmand from zara for the price point I prefer rose gourmand.

Luxurious, Smooth and velvety vanilla, there is no vanilla fragrance so pure and gentle like this. 10/10

Zeynep Kıymet05/07/22 05:36

This is the sultriest, most delicious scent I’ve ever used. It’s a blend of powdery vanilla and amber on my skin, perfectly balanced with none of that sickly sweetness you get from most vanilla-dominant scents. I agree with the comment down below, it opens spicy and almost boozy? like a masculine fragarance but the drydown is very feminine: a soft, powdery and woody gourmand. It attracts a lot of attention and can be overpowering in the summer so I’ll be retiring it to the shelf until fall. Again, this is not a generic sweet vanilla like every other fragarance on the market, so don’t blind-buy just because you like that note.

One big spray on my left arm. First impression, gross. I guess my hormones do not work with this one. I love BR540, I mean almost had an "experience" with it. For all the reasons why it is such a mind/body bender. This, I will have to try again. It's going to be just like Chanel "Coco". Keep going back to it every winter, and nope. And I love some other Chanel's, and buy them all the time. With this, I get some type of chemical smell that bites my nose. I have smelled this before in other fragrances. Not good, on me anyways. As they say, total scrubber. For me anyways. Not a safe blind buy, try before you buy. Happy sniffing.

MandarinOranges05/04/22 13:57

When I first smelled MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540, there was an “a-ha” moment after first sprayed, where for a moment I truly understood why everyone loved it so much. And I loved it so much that I wanted to try all of MFK’s perfumes. So I got this, and to be honest, I’m slightly disappointed. It smells like your expensive amber, powdery vanilla…and that’s it. I didn’t find anything unique about it, and definitely NOT worth the price point of $300+. I have a list of perfumes that I would repurchase for the rest of my life, where the scents (to me at least) are unique and isn’t easy to find (a few Tom Ford fragrances are on that list). But this scent is truly generic and to be honest, not worth investing in. I find kayali’s vanilla MUCH more unique than this = and for better price too.

Love this, but I don’t think it is similar to Roses Vanille and the other fragrances actually similar to Roses Vanille but without that citrus like Delox, K’bridge club and intense cafe; the latter 3 being practically identical. I thought someone also said Eau Duelle by Diptyque smelled similar but they are completely different because GFG does not have those dry green and spicy notes. It is also too sweet to be compared to Gypsy Water. That is why I think GFG is different. The vanilla and soft amber, “fresh” juniper woods, musky airiness are all present. All blended together to form a different scent. That’s where the genius lies, producing a scent that is familiar and comfortable but I can’t name an identical fragrance to it…like those 3 I mentioned in the beginning of this post, that are really difficult to tell apart at times. MFK really knows how to create air in his fragrances, without verging into overpowering menthol to me. The same quality I find in K’bridge which I love, sort of a cloud effect. Probably why it reminds some people of it. Still not exactly the same though lol

when i first sampled this i thought it was nice but not really that good. wasn’t picking up any vanilla at all. i sampled for the second time today giving it another chance and i am absolutely in love. i smell the vanilla this time and it might be one of the most beautiful fragrances i’ve ever smelt. i can’t afford a bottle of this but i’ll try to ask for one for my birthday because wow. i want to wear this all winter long. so comforting.

This vanilla is not worth the price. Its nice and lovable but not worth it.

@Polylife2018 my juice has gone a purple-y brown too you're not alone...must be the vanilla!

Wearing this today as I got a sample. I love MFK but I don't think I am going to be able to wear this again. On me it smells like fruity, overly sweet vanilla. It reminds me of Cacharel's Amor Amor on my skin (???) I don't get any woodsy, spicy notes at all. I think this will be well loved by people who like those popular fruity, candy floss fragrances, but that's not me. I'll stick to Petit Matin

This is my favorite MFK perfume. However, When I first sampled it I did not like it. I sampled it on paper and did not really smell anything. This is a perfume you have to sample on skin. I layered sampled it on my skin and still wasn’t a fan. I still barely smelled anything, it smelled light and fresh, not like vanilla as every one describes it. I decided to give it another chance and sampled it on my skin again like a week later and started liking it. The initial spray is a fresh light amber scent and the juniper berries . The vanilla comes through later when the perfume dries down. Now don’t think this is a typical sweet vanilla perfume because it is not. It is very aromatic, fresh with some warmth/light sweetness. This is a different take on vanilla which I liked. I purchased a full-size bottle. Definitely different than all the vanilla perfumes I have in my collection. I haven’t had any issues with the performance. Sprayed it on me before going out around 11am, got back home around 6:30pm and could still smell it. At around 5pm someone complimented me and said “you smell so good”, so the perfume was still projecting.

This is a very warm scent. The amber, vanilla and musk is very pronounced. It’s slightly woody and powdery too! I find it to be unisex but the opening leans more masculine and the closing leans more feminine! You can definitely tell that it’s in the same house of BR540!!!

the_enigmatic_oblong04/14/22 09:27

I can’t get enough of this one. I find it to be a perfect unisex fragrance. Every time I wear it I can’t stop smelling my wrists. Very sophisticated and elegant fragrance for both men and women.

thotumnheaux04/13/22 15:20

I'm sorry... I don't get the hype with this one.

It smells like a generic rich vanilla. Creamy vanilla, amber and musk. That's all I get, sadly :( Absolutely does not smell its price point, at least on me or my clothes.

I have a decant of Intense Cafe, so we'll see how that compares...

I just received 2 of the 4 pack samples from MFK. This is the first one I wanted to try, I'm so disappointed!! I'm newer to the fragrance world so maybe my nose just isn't ready for this kind of perfume? I get a very strong bug spray smell with a light dry sweet on top. The only other time I've experienced this bug spray smell was from a vetiver based perfume that did not agree with me. I'm so bummed. I adore vanillas but I just can't with this bug spray base on me 😫☹ I'll give it a few months and revisit it at the end of the year but right now this definitely isn't for me.

RisingChaos04/10/22 16:38

Warm, slightly powdery amber-vanilla but those juniper berries poke through from underneath loud and clear, providing a fresh fruitiness and fizzy pop to the entire composition. To my nose, it actually dominates everything else. Imagine a full glass of gin and tonic, crisp and clear, garnished with a little wooden plate of vanilla pods, warm resins, and tiny dusting of spices floating on top.

This gives me a similar vibe to Whispers in the Library where the warm vanilla is subdued to the point this smells more like a plain clean musk accented with minor fragrant notes. Certainly doesn't smell like Intense Cafe. I find it well-balanced enough to use for all occasions. Moderately strong initial projection fades over 3-4hr, faint whiffs through ~6hr, longevity 12hr+.

I am in the can't smell this camp. No vanilla. I get something like fizzy berries. Like when seltzer hits your nose with a spicy berry in the background with maybe some amber hidden away. Shame.

@Polylife2018

The light grey liquid color is not Gentle Fluidity Gold but Gentle Fluidity SILVER and it smells completely different ! ;)

Remember ... true vanilla macerates and the juice becomes yellower with time... never reaches dark yellow though... my new bottle juice was completely clear and 1 month later it is starting to become light yellow (even though I keep it in complete darkness)

And with time, the vanilla scent becomes stronger, my previous bottle was vanilla and very soft spicy bliss... My new botltle hasn't reach this state yet as its batch is only from july 2021 and no air went inside until I started using it a month ago...

This is common with high quality vanilla scents... I have the same experience with Spiritueuse Double Vanille, which smells nice when I start using the bottle, but smells really divine after 6 months using it and allowing air inside the bottle by doing so.... and 4 years in, I only have 10 ml left and it is now smelling more strong vanilla + butterscotch which I love even more because the vanilla is now so potent !

True vanilla fragrances take time to reach full potential.

Polylife201804/05/22 03:17

I wonder are there 2 versions of Gentle Fluidity Gold? I see that the liquid in some Youtubers' bottles is in a clear brown+purple+grey color, while the liquid in the tester bottle I found in the mall is clear light yellow color.

Update: Ending up buying a 100ml bottle of GFG with brownish juice in it. It smells divine! It is soft, sparkling, noticeable, and recognizable. The imagery that appears in my head is sweet vanilla syrup with honey ice cubes (?) I love it! It is versatile enough to wear in any season. It is now my signature scent together with the silver version for occasions that I want to feel really sophisticated and put-together.

I bought this after trying a sample. I wanted this to be my everyday scent. However when I bought a bottle and used it, I could barely smell it after 2 hours. I asked other people if they could smell it on me and they said yes but barely. I’m not sure if I got one from a bad batch or if it’s my skin. I’ve used moisturizer and oil on separate occasions to see if it helps but it made no difference. Such a shame! It is a beautiful scent.

Very pleasant, delicate and elegant vanilla fragrance.
It’s the refined, more rounded version of Intense Cafe, without the rose and any harshness.
I did like it, but ended up giving my bottle away because it was too linear and inoffensive for my taste, but I do think it’s suitable for more delicate and comforting scents’ lovers, and certainly do not mind smelling it around.
Leans more feminine, staying power is good, projection not so much.

Sweet powder. Barely any vanilla to my nose, unfortunately. It shows up a little in the drydown, but it’s still pretty light and an almost floral vanilla vs a rich, true vanilla. Musk lends some of the powdery-ness while the woodsy notes and juniper play a supporting role. Fairly linear.

Quite light for a MFK .. well, in comparison to BR .. but still good longevity and projection.

I remember really liking this when I first tried it out (a year ago) and thought it would be worthy of a full bottle. After revisiting my sample, I’m disappointed .. way too sweetly powdery for me.

This is one of the best vanilla fragrances I own. It is very inoffensive and pleasant, although the juniper berries and coriander give this a interesting, spicy and aromatic quality I really like. I would say this is a perfume perfect for almost every occasion. This also has great longevity, it lasts the whole day on my skin, which I would expect for the price. All in all, one of the best fragrances I own.

I would call it gentle sour sweetness - it's bright, joyfull and sophisticated scent. It has pretty great sillage, but on my skin, not like other mfk perfumes, doesn't last very long. Some people say that it is too simple and similar to others vanilla perfumes, but for me it's like no other scent. It has something light, unbothering and "simple" in it, but also it has quality and just makes me smile and fell better 🙂 I just love Gentle fluidity gold! ❤️

I wore this to bed last night and amazed at how I could still smell it on me this morning. This fragrance has a soft, airy, gentle and ethereal feel to it. Mesmerising!

I can’t get enough. I understand it’s comparison to Roses Vanille. However, GFG is softer, well blended with no sharp edges to it at all.

The House of MFK are masters at blending scents. I adore all the scents I have from this house.

Scent -10/10 Simple and linear scent but beautifully done.

Longevity -10/10…gentle but very present for a long time. 8 hours plus.

Sillage- 9/10 people need to be close to you to smell you.

I just got this today from MFK. The vanilla and amber are divine. I do get the juniper and nutmeg more than I anticipated, which makes it unique to other amber/vanillas. It is dense, yet ethereal, as someone else said.

Like 540 and Grand Soir, it’s molecular in nature. It shares some of that disappearing quality of 540, but replicates the richness of Grand Soir. I haven’t heard others comment on this, so thought I’d mention it.

It’s not the powerhouse I wish it were. Soft side of moderate projection. Regarding the comparisons to other frags: I don’t see any resemblance to Rose Vanille.

Edit: I was mistaken about the performance. It’s better than I thought. Maybe My nose was off that day.

It reminds me of intense cafe but without coffee and with a bit of a different turn seeing as it has Juniper, Nutmeg and Corriander and woody notes. Different enough to keep both I think. Intense cafe is so strong and this is gentle, so good as a bedtime scent. Very feminine and elegant.

This one polarises me. It’s the Juniper Berries that put me off with their incredibly balsamic-menthol like facet that leaves a feeling in my throat as if my airways are being opened up, similar to using Vicks Vapour Rub.

Aside from the Juniper Berries, it’s a beautiful scent with a luminosity to it that’s gentle and fluid like, so the name is perfectly fitting.

I see so many bad reviews on this and I feel I have to come to its rescue, because I feel this is a little misunderstood. Honestly, the first two times I tried GFG, I thought it was just a basic vanilla scent with a profile that I had met before. However, with many wears and with moderation while spraying, I discovered this to be the gem that it is. Although linear, the blend is superb and the scent so calming. My favourite for sleeping, actually, mostly during cold weather. It is reliably uplifting, luminous and friendly. Just like Baccarat, this one too has a certain good energy. It is very special, do not take it for granted and do give it some time to reveal itself.

I'm testing a sample right now
This is the one I really loved.
I'll sure be ordering, very feminine in my opinion
It might sound crazy but after 1 hour in the drydown it reminds me of a mix between rose gourmand (Zara's) and Olympéa
Now right after spraying I could notice the coriander (I don't like) but it doesn't stick around in a bad way, it adds something unique which I like

My first impression without knowing the notes was that it was a very fruity .. Red fruits like YSL Mon Paris upgraded... But fresher, lighter, more effervescent even.... ( But no citrus)... Then vanilla caramel smells taking it in a gourmand direction. Some spices but like a candle that smells Christmassy... The Spices are not prominent and I can't say it's a specific nutmeg smell either.

Other things ppl are smelling that I'm not getting at all:
* Cat pee - nope, don't smell this.
* Florals - nope, it's strictly an ambery gourmand for me.
* synthetic and chemical qualities - another nope for me.
* Green or woody notes - nope. I don't know what juniper berries smell like, I'm getting rasperries and cinnamon/cloves.
Great for Bumble dates or Netflix and chill... Perfect for clubbing. Your man might want to eat you lol.

It's clichéd but the quality of the scent does speak for itself. But please don't compare it to cheapies like CK one shock, it's really much much better.A good quality amber scent is hard to find. I already have too many gourmands, otherwise I would add this to my wishlist. It's very similar BR after all.

Aghhh why am I such a desperate musk girl lol. I try to go a different route but end up with musk and amber. I adore this perfume. Very nostalgic, brings up some memories even tho I never worn this perfume it reminds me of something I can’t remember. The gentle fluidity is speaking for itself. Very very feminine very sensual. Will attract boys like crazy 😜

This is so nostalgic to me. In the best way possible, this smells like my old room from the first house I lived in when I was very young. I want to get a full bottle of this in the future. This is so sweet yet fresh also maybe the tiniest bit artificial but not in a bad way. I'm not sure what it is about this that has me so obsessed with this

perfumewave03/19/22 14:16

It smells like Rose Rouge, Intense Cafe and Roses Vanille, which all smell like each other. But I'm surprised that how this is similar to those perfumes when this doesn't have too much shared notes with them. Its alternatives are a lot cheaper so I don't think that this worths it.

emeraldwaters03/15/22 14:40

to me this comes across as if it had a pear note. it’s warm & sweet. it’s nothing unique or anything, but i might buy a full bottle. although someone’s comment on here about this smelling like urine kinda ruined the frag for me. mostly bc it’s kinda true

I believe this is a great unisex fragrance. The warm and clean vanilla is great for a cool day. As a stand alone, it is gentle and complex. The soft and non-offensive nature of this perfume also makes it a great bottom layer if you are interested in whipping up your own smell for the day. I like throwing some woody tobacco into the profile.

I have had it for one week, and I wish to sell it.
I loved my sample, but since Chemo, my nose changed. I am pretty gutted! I can't like some fragrances I used to and had this on my list for so long. Then it came, and I didn't enjoy it on my skin. Sprayed twice and has the original boxes and packaging etc. Please get in touch if you like it.
Vanilla music is a gentle perfume, my husband loves it, but I can't.

weirdhoney2103/07/22 16:42

This is a pretty vanilla that balances the sweetness well with woody/spicy undertones. It's quite powdery but in a good way. If you layered Commodity Gold and Outremer Vanille you could easily replicate this. Gold is a more linear, unisex vanilla and Vanille is more gourmand and powdery. I can tell this is a high-quality scent, however, I feel like I have so many vanillas I love and for the price, this isn't worth it for me. The longevity and sillage are fantastic though and it would take me years to get through a full bottle. Would also make a beautiful signature scent!

8/10

This smells quite similar to naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood to me on initial spray. If you liked that one, but like me you’re sad about it being discontinued, then id say it’s worth trying this one out. It doesn’t project quite as well as naughty Alice did though. I may get a bottle of this at some point but there are currently things that are higher on my Wishlist

This dries down to a warm powdery vanilla feminine fragrance, its so strange as I can't think of another perfume like it. I find it very comforting and I definitely think it would make a good signature scent, as its suitable for anything.

Is it just me or does MFK not impress with any of their more popular fragrances? I thought I was going to like this one going off the scent profile alone. The first time I wore it I thought I liked the smell, then leaned it closer and it smelled indolic to me. Wore it again and this time it smelled like expensive baby powder. Thoroughly unimpressed. Niche and expensive houses doesn't and will never equate to great-smelling perfumes. Thank God I had a sample. This would have been a disappointing $300+ blind buy.
