This hub is a non-crushable design and is a slim hub adapter that is designed to be used in junction with a quick release unit. Running this hub adapter without a quick release may place the steering wheel too close to the stalks.

We recommend the use of our Rotator Spacer Kit when running an NRG brand hub adapter to ensure all items are installed as originally intended while maintaining the correct orientation.

Each hub bolts between the steering console and your quick release to provide a perfect fit. Please note this item is not compatible with the NRG thin quick release or NRG quick tilt system.

NRG short hub steering wheels are made from high quality aluminum and designed to utilize one solid piece construction for maximum durability and usability.

Works with 6 bolt steering wheels.

Is a quick release steering wheel legal?

Legal Limitations Quick release steering wheels are a popular option but are not legal everywhere in the US. It is illegal to have them if you are a resident of New York or California.

Do all quick release steering wheels fit any car?

Trick answer, ANY quick release will fit your vehicle(as long as the vehicle is equipped with a Short Hub Adapter). The Quick Release is not a hub in itself, and must be installed in addition with a Short Hub Adapter.

Why do people take off their quick release steering wheel?

Safety is the most important reason for having removable steering wheels. Whenever a crash occurs during a race and the driver is unconscious or needs help being removed from the vehicle, the removable steering wheel is extremely valuable and helpful for getting the driver out of the car.
