We are just broken over it. To find out he died trying to save three lads... That just sums him up. He was amazing.' A friend of the group has claimed that three of the boys went to help after one of them got their leg trapped in the ice in the moments before the tragedy, while a family friend has said Jack's grandfather 'ran from his house' into the water in a desperate attempt to save them. Tonight, there was an organised vigil at the lake (pictured top right) where residents and well wishers paid their respects to the three boys who died.
