If you want your Ford Focus engine to last for a long time, you should change the engine oil regularly because the engine oil is one of the most essential components in your vehicle. If the oil change is delayed for too long, the wear and tear of important components in the engine is significantly increased - in the worst case, this can lead to costly engine damage. But beware: Motor oil is not just motor oil. Each manufacturer (including Ford) has certain requirements and specifications for each engine that an oil must meet in order to lubricate the engine without problems.

More detailed information on when the inspection is due and under what circumstances it becomes necessary early can be found in the operating instructions and in the service booklet of the Ford Focus.

Every engine oil will have its viscosity grade labelled on the packaging. This will look something like 0W-20, 5W-30 or 5W-40. This grading is used to measure how thick / fluid the oil is and help ensure you buy the right oil for your car. The lower the viscosity grade of the oil, the more fluid and thinner it will be than those with a high grade (higher numbers) which will be much less running and thick.

So which engine oil should you buy for your Ford Focus? Whether you are topping up your Ford Focus oil or doing a full change of your Ford Focus's oil it is really important that you use the correct grade of oil.

We have listed all the Ford Focus models and engine types in the following table, as well as the correct engine oil grade for each of the cars. You can use the search and filter to easily find the right engine oil for an Ford Focus.
