Hi Performance Oil Pan Kit

Quadratec Part #: 51009-1012

Description

Dick Moroso pioneered the deep sump oil pan over 30 years ago as he discovered that keeping oil away from the crankshaft produced more power. Moroso was the first to use an engine dynamometer to test oil pan designs which led to oil pan designs that would remove oil from the crank quickly and efficiently, and direct it towards the oil pump pickup. Our Jeep 4.0L Moroso oil pans are manufactured exclusively for Quadratec by skilled Moroso craftsmen in Guilford Connecticut using the finest materials and techniques. Each pan is jig welded and block fitted to minimize warping and insure proper fit and sealing. Before leaving the factory, each pan is leak tested and inspected for quality. The two kickouts allow 1.25 additional quarts of oil capacity to reduce oil temperature. The three hinged trap door baffles around the pickup screen open and close to limit the movement of oil on steep trails and quick launches and stops. The removable anti slosh top plate provides additional oil containment to reduce oil pump starvation. Includes a drain plug with rare earth magnet at the factory location and the original depth is maintained to allow fitment for aftermarket skid plates and to maximize ground clearance. Hand crafted from heavy 16 gauge steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish to resist corrosion. This kit includes our Hi Volume Oil Pump assembly with pickup tube, screen and gasket to make the job complete.

Quadratec Hi Performance Oil Pan Kit Reviews

I installed this kit on my '87 Comanche (4.7 ATK stroker motor) and it works excellent. The extra oil volume is a huge plus for keeping the oil cooler and extending the service interval. The oil pump seems to give good oil pressure as well ( although it is a HIGH VOLUME not a high pressure pump) and my motor does not leak a drop. I have found that the key to avoiding leaks is not overtightening the oil pan bolts (as I did on my '99 xj 4.0, which leaks prestty badly). Top notch kit, worth it if you need to replace your oil pan and oil pump anyways (as I did since mine had a hole after an accident).

had to hammer out the side the oil pump hit a little but other then that good fit

leaks terribly, waste of money.

Questions

What is the little plug on the side of the oil pan for?

Oil pan for 2006 jeep grand cherokee

An inspection provision to allow the use of a borescope. Thanks for your question.

Which gasket in included? The picture shows the pan gasket but the description gives the impression it's the oil pump gasket. Also, what brand oil pump is included. Morosos's website does not list an oil pump for the 4.0L.
