You are absolutely right with what you say and I do agree with you in most points, if it had been a completely self-contained episode I wouldn't have made this post, believe me. But the creators of Rick & Morty have been known to hide easter eggs in the show(s), there are certain references in Gravity Falls or Solar Opposites for example. Easter eggs that the casual viewer will never know of or care about. And my conspiratorial mindset is definitely at play here, I am well aware of that, but who (apart from the creators and/or marketing people) is to know that this wasn't an easter egg for the fans? As I said in another comment, it is completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, whether the 7th Episode was released on purpose, but a lot of people on dedicated forums care. Naturally, the 95% you mentioned don't and they won't even know that the episode was leaked. They'll watch the show chronologically and enjoy it - or not. But if you look at all the Rick & Morty subreddits, a good chunk of posts is about how things are connected, people finding tiny little hidden references, making macros, pointing out intricacies, references to other shows etc. So I see nothing wrong with a little conjecture in this case. And even if it was indeed mistakenly uploaded, we were able to enjoy 2 episodes that were clearly linked. No harm done. S5E7: Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion Another new week, another new episode.
