Texas A&M University Transfer Acceptance Rate & Requirements

To be considered for transfer admission to Texas A&M, you must have at least an average of 2.5 in a minimum of 24 hours of transferable and qualified course work.

You are regarded as a transfer student if you are a student who earned college credit after graduating from high school (during the fall/spring semester) and does not have a bachelor’s degree and does not qualify for readmission and is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or has applied for permanent residence or qualify for residence in Texas under Senate Bill 1528. Note that the required documents must be received (not postmarked) before the deadline.

Transfer Request Requirements

  • Official transcripts from high school and university are required for all applicants.
  • SAT scores are not required for transfer admission consideration.
  • Transfer applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPR in at least 24 qualified semester hours of transferable courses at the time of the application to be considered. The GPR necessary to be competitive may vary by university and specialization.

  • The essay is considered to identify eligible candidates. Many of the universities base their decisions, in part, on the content of essay topic A. Therefore, all applicants must complete the essay.
  • A non-refundable $ 60 fee must be submitted with the application. ($ 75 fee for international students).
