Ram also made some new safety features standard on all trims, and there is a new tire pressure monitoring system for the trailer along with an auxiliary camera system. Here is a look at the 2021 Ram 2500. Search Inventory Trim LevelsThe Tradesman is the entry-level Ram 2500. It has 17-inch steel wheels, a black mesh grille, and black bumpers. The Big Horn/Lone Star adds chrome bumpers, 18-inch steel wheels, and a chrome grille surround. Step up to the Power Wagon for black fender flares, tow hooks, a winch, and a black off-road grille, or to the Laramie for chrome mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and body-color wheel flares. The Laramie Longhorn comes standard with fixed side steps and offers the option for power side steps, and it comes with chrome bumpers. At the top of the lineup, the Limited adds 20-inch chrome alloy wheels, power-deployable side steps, and the option for body-colored bumpers. EngineThe three engine options for the 2500 start with a 6.4-liter V-8 that makes 410 horsepower. A 6.7-liter diesel engine is an option and will get you 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, and the latest addition to the engine lineup is a high-output Cummins turbodiesel V-8 that generates 400 horsepower and gets an impressive 1,000 pound-feet of torque. PerformanceWith the Cummins turbo diesel and the proper tow package and equipment, the Ram 2500 can tow up to 35,100 pounds and it has a max payload of 7680 pounds. The 4x4 Crew Cab with a conventional hitch can tow up to 19,100 and handle a 2380-pound payload, and with the standard V-8 engine, this truck can tow up to 14,370 pounds. InteriorThe Ram 2500 offers everything from a basic work truck to a luxury cruiser. The midrange Laramie has heated and ventilated front seats, heated seats in the back, and leather seat trim. Technology in this pickup truck includes an 8.4-inch touch screen and the Uconnect infotainment system starting in the Laramie. An impressive 12-inch touch screen is an available option for some of the trims, along with a 17-speaker stereo system, and these come standard in the top-level Limited model. Safety FeaturesAll of the Ram 2500 trucks have a rearview camera system, and a lane-keeping assist system with adaptive steering is an available option. The Limited adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Most trim levels come standard with front and rear parking sensors and have the option to add a safety group package with features such as adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and automated braking. The available smart towing features use an auxiliary camera system that can provide a view behind the trailer, and Ram also offers a trailer tire-pressure monitoring system.
