Look familiar to another brand with a similar name?

If looks are anything, it looks good, where is an Excel dealer?

I can tell you that I have a 20' HD Express with a 115, and really want to put a 150 on it. Noticed the tag on the boat says it is only rated for a 130?

I guess this would be equivalent to the Express with the Hyperlift hull.

Jerry's in Sulphur, Real Deal in Alexandria and Boats Unlimited in B.R. Real Deal and Boats Unl. sell both Excel and Xpress.

Southern Outdoors in Houma and Thib sells them. I seen one from the road and they look nice. Not a rough water boat though.

looked at one at Houston boat show and it looked pretty nice but I still think I would rather the Xpress with hyperlift hull but stick a Yamaha 150 SHO on the back and I think either would be nice to have.

From what I've seen with the excel, it seems to be a little pricey.. Much rather a glass boat in that size range. But like I've said before, they all have their nitch/purpose.

The owner of Real Deal Marine just emailed me back and told me he sells both Xpress and Excel. He says the Excel is better hands down and has gotten it over 60mph with the ETEC 150.

I will be getting the Excel 203 bay from Real Deal Marine hopefully next week so I can give yall an update. From what I have found by price checking in TX and La the Excel and Xpress are very close in price. Seems the Excel is a little less and from every dealer I have talked to in person or by phone say the Excel is a better boat some sell both. Real Deal Marine had the best price of anyone I talked to in LA or Tx just FYI.

Real Deal told me he has one coming in next week, but it's sold. Is that yours? lol. You can PM me some pics and opinions of the boat too.

Yes I put a deposit on one three weeks ago just waiting for it to come in. I will let you know how it goes after I get it. I ended up going with that boat instead of the Xpress H20B so hopefully everything goes well.

lol. Look at their Facebook page and see where I asked them which they would prefer. It started a long conversation.

Looking to purchase a 1860 stalker. How well would the Yamaha 70 push it? What would the top speed be like?

Looks like a very well built boat...kinda reminds me of the older duracraft hyperlift bay that is no longer made. Just looked at the specs on their site....15 degrees of deadrise, don't see that often on a factory built boat. Should ride pretty good in the chop.

are they much noisier in a chop than fiberglass boats? What about when stalking fish under the birds? Do you think the hull noise would scare the fish more than a glass boat?

I have have only been in the boat once since the purchase, but in my opinion I do not think it is very noisy at all and do not see it scaring the fish any more than a glass boat. The boat even surprised me how well it would take the chop for an aluminum boat.

Hi ml2oo3, any update on how the Excel is performing and what your overall feelings are towards it?

I have the 220 bay pro, and so far been great for me. Handles the chop very well. Only been wet once, and that was heavy chop, (2-3' rollers) and a cross wind.

Nice boat davidpuddy! How does the 150 push the 220?

Looks like a great boat. I really like their rod lockers. No stupid tubes inside. Not a lot of room for big ice chests.

I can get 56 with me and one more person full tank of gas, and fishing equipment.

The front lockers in this boat is what sold me. They are totally dry....all four of them. Unlike the express.

That's one drawback. But there is no perfect boat. Just one that's perfect for you.

I have the 220 as well and the first season my floor buckled and had a hump in it. At least excel is replacing my hull but I am still waiting to get it back.
My rod lockers are not water tight...even under the rear seats are not water tight!!

Ronnie,

The hatches in the back of mine are not water tight either. They are designed differently, but the four up front on mine go through the pressure washer after every trip and are totally dry.

Do they know why your floor buckled? This has me a little worried now. Lol

my floor starting doing it right away and i was told to just use it until the winter and they would fix it. They tried to inject foam under it to fix it and i rejected that because then i had a huge hump in the floor in front the bait well. I am wishing i would have went with a FG hull now. Neither express nor excel quality has impressed me at all.

I was very unimpressed with express. So far my excel has been great. It handles better than expected in rough water. I've been in some pretty bad stuff with it so far. The only downside I've found is the weight of the hull. It's so light the wind really blows it around.

Price point was my most deciding factor. Didn't want to finance a boat for 10-15 years. Lol

well i got my replacement hull in and its hands down better than the first one. the lockers even seem to have a better fit to them. Only time will tell i guess.

Maybe they had a bad run when you got your first one. I hope so, and good luck with the new hull.
