Overview

Set amid lush landscapes and blue waterfalls, the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort offers a tranquil Caribbean-style stay, in Universal Orlando Resort. Despite being close to the theme parks, the hotel maintains a serene, family-friendly atmosphere. It offers a lagoon-style pool with a water slide, two sandy beach areas and Caribbean-themed dining options – including rum tasting experiences in the sophisticated tavern. Universal’s theme park benefits are included with each stay, from complimentary water taxis to Early Park Admission* (in selected parks).

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort conveniently lies less than half a mile away from Universal's Volcano Bay. Direct walking paths will connect you to this water theme park, or you can take advantage of the free shuttle bus service that runs to and from here. Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida and Universal CityWalk are all less than one mile away – you can use the hotel’s complimentary water taxis and shuttle buses to reach these areas of the resort. Reach Orlando International Airport in just over 15 miles.

Rooms and suites are light and airy, with a modern beach feel. They are tastefully decorated in soothing blue, white and cream tones, and many offer views of the lagoon pool. Most have light wood furniture, wave-patterned carpets, large turquoise headboards and Caribbean-themed artwork and cushions. Bathrooms also have interesting features like the hand-painted bathroom tiles, quirky light fixtures and huge mirrors – and they come with branded toiletries. Every room features a mini-fridge, Cuisinart coffee maker, flat-screen TV and convenient USB outlets. Find a choice of luxury suites, including Kids’ Suites which have a king bedroom and a nautical-themed bedroom for little ones. These can connect to an additional room, making them ideal for larger families. Hospitality Suites offer living and dining areas, a kitchenette, full-size bath, and bedroom, while the Presidential Suites has upscale decor, an elegant master bedroom, spa-like bathroom, study, workout area, dining room and living room.

Make the most of the Universal Orlando theme park benefits during your stay. You can enjoy Early Park Admission* to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ and Universal’s Volcano Bay, up to one hour before the parks open(paid theme park admission is required. Complimentary transport is also offered to all three theme parks, and Universal CityWalk. You can charge purchases across the Resort to your room key card and it also gives you complimentary club-to-club access** to select Universal CityWalk venues. Take advantage of free merchandise delivery from Universl's shops straight to your hotel too.

On the property itself, there’s an impressive outdoor pool – the largest of all Universal's hotel pools, which is complete with a curving water slide, a kid’s splash area, two “beaches” and a hot tub. Poolside activities are organised daily, ranging from hula hooping to pool basketball. Cool waterfalls and tropical foliage help create a relaxing atmosphere and luxurious private cabanas are available to hire.

The Kalina Health and Fitness Centre is complimentary. Here you will find cardiovascular equipment, resistance weight machines, exercise mats, and a locker area with a dry sauna and showers. Kids will love the Calypso Game Room, with its classic and current arcade games and there’s a kids’ club (which costs extra) for children between the ages of 4 and 14 years old. The vaulted lobby area presents amazing photo opportunities, complete with a circular staircase which is built inside a plantation sugar mill tower. 

Dining information

Amatista Cookhouse TM is the main all-day restaurant, offering an a la carte breakfast and a full-service menu otherwise. Watch Caribbean cuisine being freshly prepared in the open exhibition kitchen and dine indoors or outdoors. Try delicious Caribbean wings, grilled pineapple salad, rotisserie chicken and fresh fish dishes – or order tasty burgers, sandwiches, and flatbreads. The tempting selection of desserts includes Caribbean rum cake or red velvet Caribbean cheesecake.

Drhum Club Kantine TM is a poolside bar which offers a tapas-style menu, with a focus on fresh seafood. The menu includes a section for children, and adults can order signature rum cocktails – like the Drhum Club Punch and Rum Runner – or crushed tropical drinks and frozen cocktails. If you are on the go, you can always head to the New Dutch Trading Co. for speciality teas and coffees, sandwiches, pastries, ice creams and other snacks.

The stylish Strong Water Tavern is a real highlight, presenting a huge drinks menu and an entire wall of rums to choose from. Small plate dishes are also served here – such as ceviche, tacos and curries from around the world. The al fresco terrace features a fire pit so you can dine outdoors throughout the evening, overlooking the lagoon.

For a special experience, you can book a Caribbean rum-themed dinner show (for an additional charge). Enjoy light appetisers, rum samplings, entertainment, and a five-course dinner with Caribbean rum pairings. (Must be 21+ with valid photo ID to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages)

Additional information

In response to COVID-19 the games room and the dry sauna are closed until further notice and there will be no valet parking service or concierge available at this time. There is a reduced capacity in the hotel’s restaurants and bars and there is no buffet option or salad bars available at Amatista Cookhouse. You can only use the pool at the hotel you are staying in. Poolside movies and pool activities have also been suspended. For stays of seven nights or longer, housekeeping will operate every fifth day. On all other days, a contactless housekeeping service is available on request and includes delivery of fresh towels, linens and bathroom amenities, left in a bag, outside your guest room door. When possible, each guest room will be vacant for 24-48 hours between stays. Attendants will not be delivering luggage to or from your guest room, however you can utilise the bell carts yourself and there will be luggage storage facilities available.
