Some apps do not play audio on TV when the silent mode is turned ON on your iPhone or iPad. You will have to turn silent mode OFF to be able play audio from such apps. AssistiveTouch is also a great thing to have on your screen in case your Home button breaks or stops working. Enabling AssistiveTouch on an iPhoneGo to Settings and then to Accessibility. Scroll down until you find Accessibility Shortcut. Enter it and tick AssistiveTouch. To activate AssistiveTouch on your iPhone, go back to your Home Screen and triple-click the Home button. A small black square with a circle in the middle will appear. You can change its location by dragging it across the screen. Click on the AssistiveTouch and go to Device. There you’ll find a bell icon with an ‘Unmute’ caption. Press it to turn silent mode off. Similarly, to hide AssistiveTouch, triple-click the Home button. Keep in mind that if you use AssistiveTouch to turn off silent mode, it won’t change the alignment of your silent mode switch. That means, the silent mode will still activate when you push the button away from you, and will turn off as you push it towards you. If you use AssistiveTouch alongside the switch to operate silent mode, sometimes it will require you to click the switch two times to achieve the desired effect. How to turn silent mode off in SettingsWhile there’s no direct way to turn silent mode off in Settings, you can do it by using the AssistiveTouch method we’ve described above. This is to keep you in the loop of any oncoming notifications and calls, but without the sounds. While it is quite useful, it can easily get annoying.
