What does a certified copy of marriage license look like

A certified copy of your marriage license will be required to show your legal name and relationship status after marriage. If you ordered a certified copy at the time you applied for your license, one will automatically be mailed to you once your license is returned to our office after your ceremony.

You may purchase a certified copy of your Lane County marriage license either by calling us at 541-682-3653 or by mail. To purchase a certified copy of a Lane County marriage license by mail, complete and print the Request for Certified Copy of Marriage License. Mail the form to our office along with a check for $7.75 for the first certified copy, plus $4 for each additional certified copy. Make checks payable to: Lane County Deeds and Records.  The certified copy or copies will be returned to you by mail.

If the marriage license was issued by another Oregon county, contact that county to order, or order from the State of Oregon's Center for Health Statistics.

The Lancaster County Clerk’s Office can only issue certified copies of the following marriage licenses:

  • Licenses issued by Lancaster County between mid-June 1976 to the present

You may request a form for a certified copy of a marriage license via mail or via email.  To obtain a certified copy of a marriage license, please fill out the Certified Request Form (PDF) and submit to the Clerk’s Office in person or via mail.   For the safety of your information, the Clerk’s Office cannot accept emailed certified copy request forms.  You will need to include the following information:

  • Both applicants’ full names - including maiden name(s), if applicable
  • Date of Marriage
  • A copy of your valid photo ID (i.e.: unexpired driver’s license or state ID)
  • $9 per certified copy (or $0.25 per photocopy)

Marriage Licenses Issued Prior to 1976
