Seagate hard drive stopped working for my Xbox one

So I’ve been using a seagate hard drive on my Xbox for about a year now and I’ve had no problems with it until now. I turned on my Xbox and the hard drive was making the noise it usually does but the white light isn’t turning on like it usually does and the hard drive is not working. I tried every USB port and none of them worked. The hard drive hasn’t moved once since I’ve owned it so there’s no way it could have been physically damaged. Is the Xbox the problem? Is there something wrong with the cord? Or did it just break after a year for no reason like every other Xbox product I’ve ever owned?

    :)

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

Remove the hard drives connected to the console and reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

    To reset the console>

    Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***

After resetting the console, connect the external hard drive and see if it solves the problem.

If the problem persists, connect the device to the PC and see if it is recognized, I recommend formatting if recognized and then connecting to the console.

If the problem still persists, I recommend contacting Seagate for repair or replacement.
